A 0.05% cost is a kick in the junk? What do you think of the recent 6% increases?
That didn't add a nickel-and-dime option that will leave newbies without a plug.

Tesla's mobile connector is one of the best on the market. There's no reason for it to ever hit the landfill. Not only are the cables beefy, and therefore worth recycling...

...the connector can be easily updated to match other standards.

No, it was a $500 and $1000 bill option that saved everyone $250.

Maybe not right now. Bad moves aggregate over time, especially as competitors close the distance. I rent so I use MC exclusively at home. This is a kick in the junk to renters or those who cannot otherwise install hardware at home.
This brings up an interesting question. If you currently have a Tesla car and it came with a Mobile Charger, if you decide to trade in your current car for another Tesla, would you keep your current MC and not leave it in the car you're selling? Private sale, I'd probably include it. Trade in to Tesla, I'd try to keep it and see if they looked for it. And if they ask, I'd just say, oops, lost it. What are they gonna do, lower the trade-in price $200?

Gonna be some disappointed new car owners to show off their car but not be able to plug in at grandma's.
If you are coming from a gas vehicle, visiting friends/ family is no different from doing it in a gas vehicle. You don’t show up at grandmas and rummage around her garage for a gas can.

If you are used to electric vehicles, you know more or less what you are getting into one way or the other.

Because they forgot they needed to click.

If they didn’t click, and don’t have a cable, I don’t know why they would assume they could plug in at Grammies. What were they going to plug in with? What did they use to plug in before gram’s?

That's not how we did things in rural Oregon when I was a kid, The host would make sure that vehicles were fueled for the trip home.

You do plug in when you get somewhere. Why would you act like it's a gas car and waste time going out to a public charger?

My point was that nobody is going to show up at grandma’s house and be surprised they don’t have a way to charge their car.

We own a mobile charger and yes when the opportunity presents itself I charge at friends or families homes. When we get the Cybertruck, we won’t buy another. Only need one.

What's the big deal. Every car I've ever bought had add-ons you could argue were important. Floor mats? And please stop using the "potentially life saving" argument. Should they also provide free waterproof matches and MREs? How about an epi pen? They're cheap right, and could save lives. And we hold Tesla to this standard, and no one else?

If you don't think it's wise to check what options you may need when buying a $70k EV for the first time, well, that's on you.

There's gonna be extras. There always is. Floor mats. Rustproofing. Extended warranty. Tire and rim insurance. Locking lugs. Window tinting. It's whatever...just get me my truck already.

Oh, I shouldn't use a good argument because it's a good argument?

That's some logic you have there.

It's potentially lifesaving - and car saving, in any case where the grid is limited or damaged.
