I'm not cancelling my 2 reservations because that $200 was out of my possession a long time ago. I'm in wait and see mode about what to do with that money. It will be interesting to see how my first night one hour after the reveal reservation pans out.
On the question of purchasing a...
This is what the Cyberbeast is for. It's a supercar in a truck body. If that's what you want, why talk about towing and range. BTW, range on that Lambo is only 277mi.
If Tesla does that, there will be even more pissed off customers. Order #2 was made on 9/19/2020. Well over 3 years ago, and just shy of 10 months after the reveal. Legally, I locked in FSD at that time. So I don't know how that would work, if they threw out the reservation numbers.
Hmmm now I'm wondering. I have 2 reservations. The first one is about 40,000 the night of the reveal. The 2nd one is over a million. I have no interest in buying a AWD at $80,000 but if that 2nd one comes in with a price reduction to say $65,000 I may bite. What to do with numero uno.
Zack is one of my favorite YouTube personalities. And always does good, well-balanced videos. He does another great job with this video. Oh, anyone know what the heck that box is on the underside of the CT? It destroys the departure angle.
I've been seeing some discussions about this, so I did a Google search and found a good article comparing speeds of different race vehicles.
Only vehicles that can match a 0-60 time of 2.6sec. is a Formula 1 car, and Moto GP race bike.
Edit: When I looked further down the list they included...
I meant what I said. Look at the header on that comparison sheet. That's the name of the $80,000 Tesla truck. That's more money than I want to spend on a depreciating asset that I don't need. There, I said want or need. One other thing I didn't mention, is that part of the reason I don't want...
I have TRIED to back off my time on this site because I'm NOT buying this expensive truck.
I am WAY more than unhappy with the fact that Tesla CHANGED what the Cybertruck would be. At the reveal 4 years ago 2 million people thought they were going to build the go to utility vehicle of the...
You have to realize these folks given access to vehicles to do "analysis" on the vehicles are trying not to say anything bad, and promote the vehicles. Otherwise they don't get access.
BTW, I like Hagerty and the way they put up good entertaining videos. But, one thing that really hit on a bad...
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday, was filled with anticipation and excitement. I saw the photo of a bunch of Cybertrucks on a production line, and was ecstatic. It's finally going to happen! 4 years of waiting was going to be worth it. They're building OUR trucks! I was totally...
Why do you say that was a mistake? It made people think that Tesla was going to disrupt the truck market, and drove the price of TSLA stock to the moon. Maybe it wasn't a mistake, maybe they meant to do that.
This is going to destroy the dinosaurs. Raptor and TRex are going to be extinct in no time.
However, this is NOT what I need or want. I can afford an AWD but it's more money and more truck than I need.
So, the crowd reaction, and all our reactions were right when Tesla "promoted" what we all thought were good prices during the reveal in 2019. Too good apparently.
Single: $39,900 is now $60,900 which is a 52.63% increase. (available in 2025)
AWD/Dual $49,900 now $79,900 is a 60.12% increase...
I edited it to show trucks to trucks. Personally I think the Ford dealers are part of the problem with the Lightning. They would prefer to sell ICE trucks and are probably giving customers reasons to buy them over the Lightnings.
