Got a higher than expected bonus, and I'm not eligible for the tax credit anymore, so figured what the hell.

This was always expected to happen. Can't have something that sounds exclusive, call it limited, and then just sell them forever. I mean you can technically do that, but imagine to anyone who decided to get it purely to show off their 'limited' truck and then find out anyone can just buy that limited truck.

Now, this is *only* the currently-prevailing evidence - but that’s as good as it gets from Tesla at the moment










First tranche went out Fri 12/8, and second tranche went out Fri 12/15 - and based on reports from today, people with offers from the first tranche or second tranche disappeared ~overnight in connection with the second tranche going out


As ever, all things subject to change and exceptions



EDIT TO ADD: with the above clarifications it appears possible that either we’re seeing an order time clock time out, AND/OR Tesla has reached a Foundarion allotment max and ALL ORDERS, whether or not tranche 1 or 2


If in fact Tesla has maxxed the foundation series, it may mean that soon (next Friday?) we see the first non-Foundation configuration emails?

I was in the first batch of invites and as of 30 seconds ago, I can still configure.

This is now the second report of people who still have their offers sitting idol in their accounts

if so, it means something seemingly more strange is going on with the folks who had them idol but are now gone

UPDATE AT 11PM CST DEC 16th:

As of now, it appears that not all outstanding invitations were rescinded.

Since the discussions below, some have reported still having idle invitations in their account, and even completing orders.

What’s more bizarre, is it appears possible that some rescinded invitations were originally issued only Dec 15 tranche and others back on Dec 8 tranche, while invitations that are not rescinded may be all (?) from the Dec 8th tranche?

Look, I know Tesla is a company with a reputation of being very devoted a high level of sophisticated technology etc, but at the end of the day,

1) On delivery day, pricing wasn't available right away through desktop browsers but was on mobile browsers,
2) One could reveal their Tesla vehicle's vin number before it was ever in their account throug their source code, and
3) Many of us have experienced the strange hiccups that damn Tesla mobile app has had over the years especially when putting in detailed repair requests

So, my point is, I guess Tesla has made mistakes and is human after all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

my interest in this respect isn’t in Tesla, it’s in how members can understand what to do/not do in order to be best insulated from Tesla ?
