That double faced 3M tape isn't gonna last long. Gotta be something better than that?
That is VHB tape it is used to secure glass panels to skyscrapers. It's all about the surface prep.

No way!? You think the plastic didn't get cleaned well enough and maybe carries some residue from manufacturing that's allowing it to lift?

Lost my bedside sail appliqué assembly on highway. Replaced at Service Center in 30 minutes. Only problem I’ve had. Love truck after 5 weeks. Fatigued with attention.

That space looks like an opportunity to store something. Straps bungee vice grips etc

My Cyberbeast's VIN is included for both wiper motor and rear sail applique recalls. The wiper is acting goofy, it will wipe down but would stay in the horizontal position :cautious:

Over 11k Cybertrucks have been recalled due to the wiper motor potentially having electrical overstress.

Tesla recalls thousands of Cybertrucks over windshield wiper, exterior trim issues

June 25, 2024

June 25 (Reuters) - Tesla is recalling 11,688 Cybertruck electric pickup trucks as a failure of the windshield wiper could reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said.

The EV maker also is recalling 11,383 units of the pickup truck as a trim in the trunk bed could have been improperly attached, potentially becoming loose and creating a road hazard for motorists behind, a separate notice from the NHTSA said.

"Excessive electrical current can cause the front windshield wiper motor controller to fail," the auto safety regulator said in a recall acknowledgement letter on Monday.
The company's service team will replace the wiper motor and apply an adhesion promoter and pressure sensitive tape or replace the missing trim free of charge for affected vehicles, the letters said.
I'm very upset. I just got my truck back after them having it 27 days ...The recall notice happened when they had the vehicle. All they did was replace the blade.

I can't express how frustrated I am with getting my truck back with more damage then when I dropped it off.

Welcome to the hell that is the automotive supply chain. Tesla's supplier's supplier overstressed the part in a way that causes failure in about 2% of units... eventually.

I am affected by the recall (03XXX) but service told me that they didn't have any recall on me. So don't really trust anything that Tesla said. Since you picked up your vehicle after the 19th, it would have already been corrected. Any delivered cars on the 19th or before would be the issue.
June 19th was the recall filing date, but the paperwork says delivery centers were going to be notified the 21st (Friday). A Thursday delivery might not have been corrected.

I just tried to set up a service appointment for a month from now just for the recalls and they got back to me a few minutes after submitting it saying they don't have the parts and I will be notified through the app when they are ready to address it.

I took it in for a service and after four days they indicated that my car is ready for a pickup but none of the issues have been addressed because parts all needed to be ordered. I am not sure if the parts that they ordered includes the windshield wiper motor.

I had the same response. Advice for everyone: Sit tight, wait for a notification via snail mail and/or your app. Setting up service appointments for the recall is just gumming up the works for folks who are already busy.

I was supposed to pick up on 6/25 but got cancelled due to the Sail Applique. I just got a text to schedule pick up for this Saturday at 4pm. Hopefully, its ready and I can get it tomorrow.

Kinda bogus of them how texted me. I have the truck funded for two weeks now and they are saying they are going to give it to someone else?

Don't be disappointed if they schedule you to come back to get that addresses. I wonder what happened to the recall on the wiper on your truck.
