Thank you for your integrity in giving advice. That’s hard to do when you’re dealing with people you actually like and are clearly busting butt. Certainly could be isolated but you’re actually not the first fellow customer I have heard that from.
Thanks. Like you said, my case could be isolated so take it for what it is - one single experience out of thousands. Mars showed serious promise, so I wish them best of luck getting any kinks worked out, but I won’t be their guinea pig again.

Mars already reached out to me via email regarding my posts (note how late it is, what did I tell ya?)

They truly care about their customers and have a ridiculous amount of potential to be a great company.

Apparently I just thought I’d make your decision even harder, @hemiarch

[Been working on this for a minute now… For my 4th draft I’ve decided my fellow customer is more important than the company’s feelings. Sorry in advance, Mars]

I bought the Mars adjustable crossbars, Starlink mini mount, and truck bed mounts (for mounting crossbars to the l-track). It’s been absolute hell on earth getting any of it to work, and I’m quite competent with tools.

Their stuff doesn’t remotely line up, unless an insane amount of timing is required that isn’t mentioned anywhere in the instructions. No torque specs. They don’t label their hardware.

I intended to also buy their rack, tent, lightbar, wind deflector, the whole 9, but this first purchase seriously killed all the plans I had and forced me another direction. Glad it was $1K and not the $8-10K I was going to spend.

If Mars sees this, no, I’m not asking for a refund and I don’t feel like dealing with returning or exchanging the garbage you sent for different garbage. I don’t want to bash your company, but I also don’t want any other owner dealing with the headache I’m dealing with.

I’ll say this for them, their customer service is top notch and they work super late at night. Tesla should take notes.

I’m sticking with OEM all the way from here on out. Some of their stuff isn’t as functional as aftermarket products appear to be, but I have a LOT of OEM stuff and so far all of it actually works as intended, effortlessly.

I know there’s happy Mars customers out there (@dalton108, but even he damaged his cantrail installing his rack, likely because their stuff doesn’t line up), and I hope they chime in to give Mars a fair shake and so you can make an educated decision. All I can provide you with is my experience, and it’s been enough for me to know Mars will never get another cent of my money.

CyberTent instead of Aeroblade inbound… no rack… sad day.
That’s too bad. You’re right and at first I had to take a double take because I didn’t remember the damage. That was me smacking my cantrail with a rubber mallet because of my bad aim. And you’re right I was trying to fix a misaligned joint between two pieces of the rack.

Now, the only thing I’m going to add to this is I chalked that up to my inexperience at mounting something like this and also my laziness in not wanting to go ahead and disconnect/loosening every mounting point so that it was easier to realign.

It’s also worth noting that when Tesla removed it (the rack) to fix my tonneau cover, it was nearly perfect. So, I think user inexperience covers all of my misadventures with the product.

I wish it had have worked better for you.

Not sure where our rack owners have been. Maybe this thread slipped past them. I didn’t catch it either until last night. But since I got this message yesterday morning and saw a tag from a flat panel rack owner, I thought I’d go ahead and share them here?

Actually saw this thread while we were over camping in Bodega (complete with birds!), so I took some pictures.

Still really happy with our CybertruckCo camper. Knowing what we know now, we would make the same decision to buy it again today. Just a happy customer/camper ?

We were looking for a minimal, secure, wedge type camper with a locking rear hatch that we could hunker inside for a storm if needed. (We added a folding couch to ours.)

Cybertruckco is very price competitive with GFC/Tune/SuperPacific/Dirtbox type campers and we are impressed with the stainless build quality.

For us, it's the best camper currently available (Urander mentioned they are working on a camper version, Spacecampers looks nice but I haven't seen much beyond their website, and CyberPhoenix seems pricey and a little overbuilt for us.)

If you want something that can be removed on a regular basis, I think Urander mentioned that in one of their posts. If you're looking for more of a camper that you can stand up in, I think that the CybertruckCo is a good bet.

@CYBERTRUCKco Thanks! Still dialing in the setup (especially outdoor shower and shade).

Winds were gusting around 35mph up there. The pop-up did really well, but it repeatedly pulled 12" stakes right out of the ground for the tarp (we ended up taking the tarp shade setup down, haha)!

Shower kit + our 265 gallon smugglers bay rinse kit for the win!

Define camper? Most of the companies make roof top tents.
I know two brands that do make in bed camper (I've seen both in person now).

I've talked about the other brand but haven't made a post yet as I just got to talk to them and take a look at it this last weekend. https://cybertruck01.com/

[EDIT]
Alright I stopped being lazy and put up my post about the cybertruckone unit, LoL.

So the first one looks cool but aerodynamically catastrophic . The second one I’ve seen on a few YouTube videos. Looks pretty cool but pretty much purposes the truck almost exclusively.
I was looking for something that offers many of those benefits but doesn’t do either of those things.
Do you have either of them?

I do not have them. I've just seen them both on cybertrucks. I think there is a limited subset of truck drivers that actually want their bed filled with a camper but there are enough people for them to be built.
Also the primary advantage is a setup basecamp that can be lift.

Definitely. Now, If you offered one you could back your truck into and have it on or off in minutes, especially AT the actual campsite I’d be all into it.

I don't know about in minutes but both of them have poles that attach once you are setup at the camp site so it can be removed. The cybertruck can just lower out of it, LoL.

Cybertruck-One just posted some pics of the Phoenix popup, next to a Cybertruckco RTT camper top hybrid, while charging:
