If the tri/quad truck does come in at $90k, even $80k, I’d expect it to have it OEM and not have to start attaching aftermarket accessories to my dash. To each their own on this subject quite honestly.
I personally dont mind the empty dash. Especially if the screen is going to be that big.

I will say I'm bummed about the prospect of lacking a display behind the steering wheel. The earlier prototypes had one.

My brief experience driving a Tesla was in a Model 3, and kept looking under the wheel to check my speed. It's perfectly visible on the center screen but I prefer to just glance downward.
Yes, that would be depressing, but it is nothing compared to how I would feel if they drop the range below 500 miles, which MDR suggested. He says that he is a truck guy, but he said that 350 miles of range is all anyone needs. These statements don't make sense to me. Sure, a 'real' 350 miles would be fine, but that would be after 20%-80% effective range, winter weather consideration, and payload consideration. If like all the other Tesla cars, 'his' (EPA) 350 miles goes to 210. The winter factor takes it down another 30% (from my experience this past winter Model Y road trip), to 147, and whatever hit we would take for payload would be added to that. I suspect we wouldn't get more than 120 miles with any real payload in the winter. That is a joke and any truck person should agree. That said, I could see Tesla doing that to us and for the first time since all of this began I am seeing a show stopper for me. 500 EPA is really a threshold number for me.

They usually do top tier first, but at announcement they said dual motor would come first. They changed it to tri shortly after i believe.
Elon also said that a quad-motor variant would be first, and MDR is saying there won't even be a quad any more. I have lost almost all notions that MDR knows anything about the final CT. I have to as a 'survival' instinct.

It doesn't help having a large screen if you are busy driving and can't look at it. That is the whole idea of having a steering wheel console.

We got our model 3 a few weeks ago and you do get used to it fairly quickly. The only thing that I wish I had a front display for would be navigation directions when I don't know where I'm at. I'm sure there will be plenty of aftermarket screens available though just as there are now for the Model 3 and Y.

The 500 mile target was based on Tesla hitting their energy-density goals for the 4680, which we believe is still in the future.

Fortunately, the waiting list is long

At my age, I do not "get used to it" ever.

He said a lot of things that made no sense. I feel like I was just hoodwinked into paying to see the bearded lady at the circus and convinced this was going to be the greatest show on earth.

So, I am not going to let go of this 6 seat deal. The Y and X have 7 seat options and at one point we heard the S would be redesigned to have the 3rd row option. Why would they produce their largest most capable vehicle with only 5 seats. I just can't believe it. A ton of people are thinking about camping and family road trips. Usually you take the biggest vehicle on those trips to carry all that stuff. I bet they will have a 6 seat options and they just removed it from the base to use it as a $3k upsell. Those middle front seats can be pretty narrow, but when you need it, you need it.

If you don't have time to check your speed, you're going too fast
Do you have a Tesla? FSD? Ever use AP? Tesla puts ALL of its notices and warnings on the screen. Sure, most of the controls are ok on the screen, but not these textual notices or colored wiggly lines. I don't have time to focus on little things. If they had a voice prompt for the warnings and notices I would be fine, but they don't.

Where does the airbag go for the center passenger?

I agree, if you are going to be pulling any significant weight or heavy load 500 EPA is a must. You can get away with a lower range in an SUV type vehicle but something that is going to be used to tow heavy loads isn't going to be very useful with a 350 mile range other than local construction and service workers.
