Level Up Achievement Unlocked 🤣

Towing to Flagstaff is terrible! You go up several thousand feet! I had a dinky 80s Civic and if I didn't dodge the trundling trucks struggling up 17 I'd never get back up to highway speed until my turn-off to Prescott.

How long do you think you will have to wait?

I placed a reservation for a Cybertruck November 2019, but I don't expect getting it before fall of 2025, based on Elon saying the ramp would go slowly at first.

In the meantime I am pleased with my current EVs, and my TSLA stock.
my Trimotor reservation is 49 120 in line.

'Relatively cheap' is a fair call.
In the Pick-up truck market, Tesla will position the variants to be THE compelling choice. Not too cheap, and not too expensive. Just Right ▶
Starting from $49,999 and upto $89,999 is my range for the 4 choices. ( Single motor may happen )
Yeah I agree on price range. Guessing, I'd say the cheapest you'll be able to get a CT right now will be $60k (interested to see what the actual number will be). Over time they will offer cheaper versions and maybe some day the new price will get down below 50k. Possibly not before my number comes up. If the new price is 55k when they announce it then they are going to just sell it hand over fist.

so okay then why are you saying such dumb things, like that CT will be competing with the F150 lightning or the Chevy ev or whatever? That just misses the whole point. CT will be competing with everything bigger than a Ford Escape, it will be eating the sales from all the ice vehicles that are SUVs or pickups and unless there is some problem we don't know about or unforeseen impediment they are just going to sell every one they can make for maybe 10 years. It's going to get annoying seeing them on the road everywhere.
The Cybertruck won't be eating any immediate sales from anyone for many years.
Tesla has to fill reservation holders orders first. Which means Joe Blow won't have the choice of buying a Cybertruck.....until maybe 2027.

Will Cybertruck sell everyone made over the next 3 years? You bet.
Will Joe consumer have an option to buy one (if they are not on already on the reservation list)? Nope. So it won't impact their buying choices.
Can't wait to find out what the initial price, version and specs of the CyberTruck will be.....I hope we hear by the end of September. I think they should come up with a special Lauch Edition and call it the MARS Edition. 411 mile range. Tri-Motor. $89,069 base price.

Why "many years" when the Model 3 in 6 years has already become ubiquitous? The first Model Y rolled off the line less than 3 years ago and it's now the number 4 selling car in the US.

The end is nigh my friend.

Yeah I'm waiting for that info too. Price and specs. Hope it's not a dud like the semi (so far).

Ford CEO Jim Farley dismissed Tesla Cybertruck as “a cool high-end product parked in front of a hotel” rather than “a truck for real people.”

Will he eat his words?

During an interview with CNBC, Farley appeared to want to distance Ford from Tesla a bit after his company agreed to adopt Tesla’s NACS connector.

He described the move as an “opportunistic” one to increase access to charging for Ford customers, but he claimed that Ford’s charging network was already extensive before that.

The CEO was asked about the imminent launch of the Tesla Cybertruck and he seemed unimpressed.

Farley said about the Cybertruck:

Those are harsh words for Tesla’s first offering in the important and highly profitable pickup market in the US.

Jim better watch it. Or after marky mark will be Farley in the octagon lmao

Right now i estimate based on history calculator etc that there are over 3 million reservations... a LOT in the last 18-24 months.. so it will probably be at LEAST 5 years just to work through the reservations.

I am hoping many people drop and get their $100 back once the production model is revealed, plus pricing/specs. That will put the rest of us closer to the top. Maybe 10-20% will drop? Idk.

Okay well. Those people buying $65,000 cybertrucks in the next 3 years. Do you think they're also going to be buying F150s?

The fact that there are reservations to deliver cars to does not mean that Ford's business is going to be fine.

By the way a lot of those reservations are going to cancel. Whatever the price is going to be, a lot of people are not going to have that amount of money. Some of the reservation holders are going to die or be sick before their number comes up. Some of the reservations are by people who ordered more CTs than they can actually buy. Some are just fraudulent. But anyway all that is a separate issue. I'm just saying the backlog will clear faster than people are expecting, and if you're low down on the list of reservation holders you're definitely going to have early opportunities to pick up a cybertruck that someone else fails to follow through on.

I expect 50% of the reservations to fall through. We'll see....

I mean, buying a $65,000 vehicle with an installment loan is essentially financial suicide unless you are already wealthy. sorry to pee on everyone's cornflakes but...

That's a fact. I have $67K saved up so far for my Cybertruck. Working on getting about $20K more because I would love the quad motor.

WOW you went WAY out in the woods...

the question was why would it be years... the answer is simple it will prolly be Several years before cybertrucks are built thare are not fulfilling a reservation.

to my knowledge NO vehicle has EVER had this kind of demand prior to any real production.
