127 Miles - Halfshaft Broke? Bed Cover came with Dents

127 miles in and on Day 2 of owning the CT when all of the sudden the car starts making terrible noises. Was able to pull into a nearby hotel where the computer system was causing errors and was difficult to put back into park. It showed I was going about 5mph sitting still. Had to get a tow truck and still haven't heard back from the service team on the issue or timeline. Quick research and appears the halfshaft broke? Not a great start and in addition to this major issue, had to schedule another appointment as the bed cover had dents in it when delivered from what they think is by a hail storm.

Might be a loose hub to axle bolt. Causes splines to disengage.

This is the 3rd spline problem I have read about on the forum. Good luck with repairs.

Did you get those dents in the Tonneau cover documented in writing before taking delivery? Because that's the kind of thing that once you drive it home Tesla can't tell if it was vandalized on the street just after delivery (or by a crazed owner).

This is the kind of thing that would have stood out like a sore thumb if you did a quick walk-around with the tonneau cover closed before purchasing it.

My CT is in service right now for a broken half shaft. No ETA other than what’s in the app, which says this Friday, but I don’t believe that at all. Sucks that this keeps happening and sorry it happened to you too.

They replaced it. During delivery, you picked up the truck inside their garage where it wasn't showing from the light, nor was I inspecting a brand new vehicle like you would a used one with the excitement of wanting to just drive off. Tesla didn't expect it either obviously. All good at this point.
