Your tires and wheels look great, I would like to know how 285/65R20 Nitto ridge grapplers on stock wheels would change efficiency that is what I am thinking of doing, I have had them on several vehicles including my Bronco and they are quiet very good looking and great performing tires.

Today I installed a set of four wheels and tires from Tsportline, and this post summarizes an efficiency comparison I just performed vs. the stock wheels and tires.

What I Bought
  • Tsportline 20" Fully Forged Lightweight Wheels (31.8 pounds)
  • BF Goodrich KO3 Tires (285/65/R20) [note: stock tires are 285/60/R20]
https://tsportline.com/collections/...tweight-tesla-wheel-and-tire-package-set-of-4

The Efficiency Test I Performed
  • I drove 36 highway miles from Leesburg, VA to Blumont, VA and back at approximately 65 mph.
  • I first did this route with the stock wheels and tires that came with my Cyberbeast and no aero covers, and then I repeated it with the new wheels/tires.
The Results
  • The new wheels/tires (415 wh/mi) are less efficient by 11% relative to the wheels/tires that come with the Cybertruck (375 wh/mi).

Thank you for this info. Those BFG KO tires have been my goto for years. I'll have to consider all this myself for my second pair.

KO3's are great! They just didn't have the size I was looking for 325/50/22....bummed.

The stock tires from Tesla are 285/60/R20 vs 285/65/R20 for the ones installed.

Therefore, the with lf the tires is the same, bur the new ones have a bigger sidewall.

Also, the stock tires are load range D, whereas the new ones can handle more weight as load range E.

Did a big write-up just to see the post right after mine stating that the OEM tire is 285/65/R20, NOT 285/60/R20. So the old and new tires are the same sizes (spec wise anyways).

Edited to remove unnecessary content.

The OEM stock tire is 285/65R20

I wonder how much is the tire and how much is the wheel.
Both 20" wheels and neither of them have an aero design so pretty much negligible.

I love how quiet the stock setup is. Do you notice a road noise difference with the new tires?

The OP says is 11% less efficient, I ask could be tire vs. wheel, and you say there's no difference. So why don't you just respond / tell the OP that he is wrong, because you looked at the tires and said they have the same stats so no difference...

I beat around the idea of a aftermarket set up. It is situations like this that make me not. Seems like the designs are purely aesthetic, and no testing(not just weight and strength). The T sportline ones were available the day after the truck was in early delivery. So a more thought out setup will be around later in my mind.

Ordered the half baked snow tire setup from Tesla. Will let everyone figure out the tires for the next year or so before I dive in.

Will likely go with the K03's on stock rim. 285/65 R20 Gave up on the idea of 18's vs. 20.

My Suburban has the giant sidewall K02's and the small rims (forget size and is being used by a friend). Better off road with giant sidewall, but always a little too much give in the corners because of the high sidewall. Compound that with 7 inch lift. It is like riding a king sized bed with a feather bed on top.

I’ve heard that the KO3s are not as good as the KO2s. I current have the KO2s on my jeep, and will probably upgrade to them my factory tires are done. Anyone have experience with both KOs

Overall I don't notice any road noise difference. However, around 72 miles per hour there tend to be some noticeable vibrations.
Assuming there is no foam inside, try balance beads in the tires. Assuming they are fairly well balanced with rim weights already, maybe 4 OZ of beads? That is what I plan on doing for the Tesla Winter package if they don't have sound deadening foam.

I’ve heard bad things about tire beads, but have done no research myself. I’ve gone through 4 sets of tires on my Teslas with and without tire foam and I can’t not tell a difference. And if there was a noticeable difference at all, every tire shop would try to upsell you on the better foam version of the tire.

Tire beads can mean a lot of different things to different people (beads to sugar packets, etc). Youtube videos I've seen with actual beads indicate that it can work extremely well. Different amounts are needed for different size tires. I plan to try it if the Tesla winter tires don't have foam inside (the foam wouldn't let the beads move around properly).

I am trying to find out if Centramatics will fit the hub on the CT. I have them on my camper, a utility trailer and my Goldwing. They are great and actually eliminated the cupping on my front tire on the goldwing. I love them.

I attribute my Airstream being towed for over 200k as proof positive on Centramatics. Not sure on other things. Trailers can be shook to death. Some people never feel it.

Edit: A freaking awesome 200k. From Meat Cove Nova Scotia, Arctic Ocean in AK, Baja, and the Keys...
