I happen to agree with the OP. The white lines that bend around as you back up or go forward into a spot are 2' narrower on each side of the truck. TWO FEET! What good are the white lines if they don't show where the edge of the vehicle is? I also believe you will get better as you drive around and get used to the CT.
incorrect unless you’re accounting for the side mirrors and even then it not 2’ on each side.

The update seems to cause the interior color led to turn off when driving if set to Auto. You must now set it to ON if you want the colored LED strip to remain on during the drive.

Not everyone should drive a truck. This post is proof that CT is a ‘lifestyle’ vehicle. It’s a bummer that so many software feature aren’t ready but seriously get in your truck and learn its dimensions/footprint. You will be a better driver for it and we won’t have to rip on you (in good fun).
I was just telling someone at work this same thing. I’m bummed that FSD isn’t working yet. But… it’s forced me to fully engage with the truck. It’s a very different driving experience and it’s grown on me considerably. I had the same reaction as another recent post—for the first ~18 hours, I thought maybe I had made a mistake. I love it now.

This is legit one of the dumbest takes I’ve ever read on this MB.

Congrats, sir. You’ve truly outdone yourself.
I don’t have fused vision, my left and right eye don’t form a conjoined image in my brain. I’ve never experienced what most people enjoy as depth perception. I’ve learned to compensate, and new technology helps. The landing height system that I’ve installed in my chopper and in my plane that uses a laser beam to report precise height above the runway is an absolute joy to use. Sure I can land without it and have done so for decades. I can park the truck without any aids, but it should be obvious there is an accident here waiting to happen. Sandy Moreno, who I suspect has more experience than me, damaged his truck backing into the wall in his garage.

Another issue is that my left eye is dominant. Glancing at the speedometer or other information displayed below and to the right of the view of the road on the Tesla display gets exhausting. It’s the kind of thing that a short test drive would uncover. Unfortunately, that wasn’t available when I placed my order years ago. I would warn anyone with a similar vision issue how unpleasant driving a Tesla with only a right side information display is.

For these and other issues my ownership experience has been less than expected. This vehicle was stated to be Tesla’s best product ever. Do you really think I’m stupid for being anxious to receive any software improvements that would help?

I drive with these cameras up 100% of the time to get used to the dimensions of the CT. So helpful!
In your helpful images I can see the truck’s back bumper. My rear view camera, isn’t adjusted as accurately. I can only see the shadow the truck casts. I wonder if that might be adjusted?

What??? Good thing for you that Uber was invented. My CT backs up better (in general and certainly into a parking spot) than my Model 3 or X.
Thanks for the reply. I’m certainly glad Uber exists. It’s a big improvement over how taxi’s used to work. But, I’m too independent and self reliant to use it more than just occasionally while away from home.

Have you ever driven a vehicle with a 360 camera? It blows away what Tesla shows on the screen. I haven't parked a CT yet, but I'm pretty sure the experience is lesser than any vehicle with a 360 camera.
I have but not in a truck and even though it’s impressive I never opted to have one bc of my familiarity with trucks. It might be lesser than a 360 camera but you still not only have 4 very clear cameras when parking but also still have your trusty side view mirrors.
Regardless owning and driving truck for a first time there is a small learning curve and adjustment needed, but with the cameras on the CT I’m sure anyone could get used to it given they put in time to learn.

How long did the update take for you guys to install, its been 3 hrs and still not done.
Generally should not take that long. You might be in a little bit of trouble. Hopefully it just completes, fingers crossed for you.

Just started installing this, yesteday I installed 8.8 so guessing it was something bad in 8.8 that I got this update so soon after installing 8.8.

Absolutely there are the tools needed to park a CT and a short time with it should allow anyone to get comfortable with it. Many of us old timers on here parked large vehicles with no assistance back in the day, so the lack of all parking assist features is a small minor annoyance.

I hope that doesn't mean a 360 camera is off the table going forward though, I'd love the feature added. I honestly find it harder to park my Model 3 than much larger vehicles with 360 cameras. It doesn't mean I can't park it, but the experience is lesser than one with a 360 camera.
