Can we see the math for the buyout scenario?
-Numbers at lease inception
-Numbers at lease buyout
-Bottom line total out of pocket

With an immediate lease buyout we should not owe any lease interest on payments never made
Any sales paid up front not rolled into the lease payments should count on the buyout sales tax, meaning only pay the difference

just looking for specific numbers

For a pure purchase, will we ever get a IRA PoS $7500 like all of the other qualified vehicles?
My state also does a PoS -$ but does not list the cybertruck yet. F150 Lightning is listed.

I was referring to $7500 Point of Sale IRA EV tax credit for lease.
That doesn't exist though
30D has a time/ point of sale credit transfer for purchases from the buyer to the seller (via the seller, basically IRS->seller->buyer -> seller. The buyer can actually pocket the credit instead IRS->seller->buyer)

45W has a credit for leases. While this can be used by the lessor to reduce the lease cost, it is not a transfer to the lessee and nothing occurs at time/point of sale. Lessor claims tax credit at filing time (and adjusts estimated taxes).

I'm not clear on what you mean by 30D or 45W, but my financing documents clearly show I received a $7,500 IRA credit and a $2,000 loyalty credit following my 20% down payment. I think you might be overcomplicating things. Many hybrid car dealers have been using this lease buyout method to offer a $7,500 incentive on electric vehicles. They then offer you a used car loan with higher interest rates than for new car loans, though still lower than the 13% from the CT lease."

30D is the Clean Vehicle Credit which goes to the average buyer and can be transferred to the dealer at time of sale as downpayment.

45W is the Qualified Commercial Vehicle credit which goes to the business or lessor, with no requirement to pass it on to the lessee.

There is much confusion/ conflating of the two credits. There is no "time of sale" option on 45W. That term only applies to 30D which the Cybertruck doesn't currently get.

Tesla/ lessor chose to increase your effective lease down payment due to them getting the 45W credit. And so it showed up on your paperwork when you took delivery. However, that was not a time of sale transfer. Just like a dealer rebate is not a time of sale transfer.

This is very frustrating for potential buyers who have been waiting for the $79,990 version to qualify for $7500 credit.

We can speculate on here until the cows come home as to why it’s not available. Only Tesla insiders know the real reason why the $7500 check box isn’t listed on the CT website.

I predict future discounts are coming this quarter to blow out remaining 2024 models. My local service center has 17 2024 CT‘s in inventory and they haven’t been moving. My brother in FL says his local SC has over 30 2024‘s collecting dust on the lot. He drives by every week as part of his job and says the CT‘s don‘t seem to moving.

From the Tesla investor deck today:

– We expect
@Cybertruck
to be eligible for the IRA consumer tax credit, helping improve affordability & access
Which page - I don't see it?

Doesn't that contradict the IRS?
