This 2025 Cybertruck owner is super happy with his freshly delivered 2025 Cybertruck. He claims the 2025 is quieter and smoother than the 2024 FS CT that he test drove.

As someone who has driven 12-15 Teslas and 3 CTs. It doesn't matter about the year. They all have the same possibility of rattles, bumps, issues. Mine is probably the loudest I've been in and it's 18k vin. I've been in a 40k vin and a 6k and the 6k was the best. Just luck of the draw.

The point is that we asked and could not get an answer. So we could not make an informed decision. Because I had to pay 80000 I can not afford the 8000 self driving that I had been saving for. What is ridiculous is Tesla being deceptive and helping loyal customers at no cost to them.
You bought what you wanted when you wanted to. That is the beginning and end of this process

This is true, but they've fixed up a bunch of the weather stripping and silence points over the year. So it should trend quieter, even if the data is lumpy.

That's wrong. The tax is based on the price paid after the credit is deducted. The credit isn't paid, so it isn't taxed. I've done it.
Only if Tesla gave a $7,500 discount due to some issue that disqualified the $7,500 credit.
The point of sale credit goes to the buyer who then transfers it to the seller, so it acts identically to additional down payment. In fact, the buyer can pocket the money instead.

I see you are in Colorado, are you refering to the state $7,500 credit?
Colorado Springs:

The Federal and State tax credits do not reduce the amount subject to the 3.07% City Sales Tax. The total credit allowed will be applied toward the purchase or lease of a new vehicle as a form of cash down equivalent and is subject to sales tax.
Here is Illinois talking about tax treatment.

IRS:
Q1. What is the transfer election for a new clean vehicle or previously owned clean vehicle? (updated July 26, 2024)

A1. The transfer election allows a taxpayer purchasing a new clean vehicle or previously owned clean vehicle after December 31, 2023, to transfer the entire amount of the allowable credit to an eligible entity (a registered dealer) in exchange for a financial benefit (a reduced final amount due from buyer) from the eligible entity equal to the amount of the credit, whether in cash, in the form of a partial payment, or down payment for the purchase of such vehicle. In short, the credit can be applied at the point of sale to reduce the amount due from the buyer for the purchase of the vehicle. Eligible taxpayers who purchase an eligible vehicle and do not make the transfer election will still be able to claim the New or Previously Owned Clean Vehicle Credit on their federal income tax return, under sections 30D or 25E, respectively.

See Topic A, FAQ 7 and Topic F, FAQ 3 regarding refund and carryover treatment of the Clean Vehicle Credits at the time of tax filing.

This is fake news because they compared a FS Cyberbeast vs. a "new" AWD model. The Cyberbeast is known to be louder than the AWD because it is Front Wheel drive by default while AWD models are RWD by default. AWD has an induction front and PM motor rear. Cyberbeast has a PM motor front and from what i could find on a quick google dual PM motors in the back as well. Because the front motor is closer to the driver doing most of the work, the CB is a slightly louder vehicle.

Cyberbeast has dual induction motors in the rear. Like AWD, this reduces losses when they aren't needed.

Prediction: Trump rescinds the credit in February. Elon lower price somewhat in March. For those who don’t qualify this will be welcomed.

I am in the business of financing vehicles and equipment and I’d like to calculate the APR of the lease option. The lease option might be a work around the $7,500 credit but not if the lease is a bad deal. In order to find out if the lease is a good deal, I'd like to determine the APR. I have all the input variables from what is shown in the transaction details but the one cost I’m missing is the Capitalized Cost. Has anyone found something official? I have the Residual, the payment structure, fees, etc.

The capitalized cost should tell us how the credit is applied, whether or not there is a destination fee in addition to the acquisition fee, etc.

We should demand free self driving for being screwed out of the 7500! This is BS behavior by Tesla..
Didn’t you see this coming?
So, if I order an AWD today will it be a 2025 or a left over 2024 and hence ineligible?
if you don’t see a $7,500 credit while placing an order, don’t place the order. They are likely trying to sell you the version that doesn’t qualify for the individual tax credit.

Your comment implies that you think the $7500 tax credit gets taken off your taxes like they used to. That is no longer the case. Now the $7500 is applied during the sale process. So it lowers the price of the vehicle by $7500. Way better deal. It does seem like there will be a wait time until this happens. Last year in January I wanted to buy a Model Y when it changed to taken directly off the price of the vehicle. Even though it was being written that it was going to happen on January 1st. That didn't happen. When talking with Tesla reps. I was told it was a paperwork issue and that it would be awhile until it was resolved. I waited, and January 12th it changed to point of sale. At that time, I was able to purchase new 0 miles 2023 Model Y LR from Inventory for the listed price of $44,090, which after the incentive, and all fees, worked out to under $43K out the door price. So if you can practice some patience, it will probably pay off very well.
You can actually do either. But if you sign to transfer the tax credit to Tesla, you will get a point-of-sale discount by $7,500 regardless of whether you have this much in tax liability. If you choose to file for the credit yourself, you must have at least $7,500 in tax liability to get a full $7,500 credit.

It’s good to know that IRS lists the CB as being eligible, but don’t see anything at Tesla site! Did anyone actually get the deduction at the time of purchase?

That’s exactly what they are trying to do. They matched me up with a Cybertruck model year 2025 but later tell me it doesn’t qualify. That I should complete the order/delivery process and then request a “long term hold”.
