Two Bluetti Apex 300s run in parallel through the Bluetti Hub A1 and the Tesla charging cable nets 17 miles added an hour.

At max sustainable amperage an individual Apex 300 puts out about 3,800 watts, so about 7,600 when connected in parallel. Technically you could run 3 Apex 300s in parallel through the Hub A1, but it would not increase the charging rate because the Tesla mobile charging cable is limited to 32 amps.

It is possible to connect multiple B300K battery extenders to each Apex 300. Individual Bluetti Apex 300s pack nearly 2,765 watt hours, identical to each B300K. So with 2 Apex 300s and 2 B300ks, you could add more than 17 miles in just over an hour before depleting the Bluettis. With 2 Apex units and 4 B300Ks you could add something near 40 miles of range in just over 2 hours.

Each Apex 300 is 85 pounds and each B300K is 65 pounds. Their modularity is a nice feature up to 56kwatts using 3 Apex 300s in parallel through the Hub A1.

I wish Tesla had not canceled the range extender. But 2 Apex 300s stack neatly side-by-side on top of 2 B300Ks under the tonneau below the rear window. And a cargo strap stretched across the rear OEM D-ring cargo hooks keeps them secure.

Just in case anyone else boondocks off grid or might need a few extra miles to make that next Supercharger!

Wonder if I could charg these after my powerwalls are full, instead of “giving” to the grid.
**do they have a timer that they would accept charge?

I like where you are going with this. Wonder how much solar panels it takes to fill these in a day or 1/2 day.

I have three, two-hundred watt portable/foldable solar panels, and they’d fill a single Apex 300 or a single B300K in about 4-6 hours in good light conditions. But light conditions are never quite perfect.

Interestingly the Hub A1 has an adapter cable (sold separately) that allows charging of up to 3 Apex 300s (and their connected B300Ks) from an EV charging station. I don’t know if that is a NAS or a CCS cable connection, but it would provide a means for relatively quickly charging the Bluettis while out and about.

Once the Powerwalls are full excess solar energy is fed through the Tesla Gateway to power your house, then the grid. So if you have an Apex 300 plugged into your house to charge it, your excess solar energy should be used instead of sending it to the grid.

Two questions, don’t see these specific on product details:
1)Does the bluetti have a timer that you could set them to accept charge?
2)Can you moderate the charge level, say to accept 1-4kWh?
My goal is to ensure the Powerwalls are prioritized, which usually charge by ~12-1pm

(1) I don’t think the Apex 300 has a charging timer. I will double check the app tomorrow.

(2) The Apex 300 can be charged from a regular 15 amp 110 volt outlet, and if plugged into that it would only charge at that level.

As to both (1) and (2), you could use a timer on a 110 volt outlet so that the Bluetti only charged at specific times. I use a manual timer for my Halloween and Christmas lights so that they turn off at midnight and on at dusk.

The Bluetti app does let you throttle the input amperage charge rate to as low as 1 amp.

I'm not sure that "range extender" is the correct term for this set-up, given that it unfortunately can't be used while in motion, whereas most available ones (or even unavailable ones, like the cancelled Tesla one) could. But it would clearly be a nice "mobile charger" as well as mobile solar interface.

Please tell about the available ones. What brand/model if they exist.

Thanks and have a good day!

Check out BMW i3 Range Extender
The BMW i3 range extender does nothing for the Cybertruck.

I don’t own a BMW. This forum is not for BMWs. (I’ve never even driven a BMW and wouldn’t want one.)

There is not an existing range extender that charges the Cybertruck while in motion because the CT cannot be charged by anything while in motion. This is to keep drivers from driving away while connected to a charger.

Anything that “adds range” is by definition a “range extender.”

The i3 is an example of how a range extender should function.
