Of course there will be higher range in Europe, they use kilometers, duhReally hoping that by the time the truck gets to Europe that there will be an upgrade in range.
This is not something you'll likely be privy to. There's nobody you can call who will confirm for you if they are already using gen 3 cells, or when they would start, or anything like that. There's also nobody who can tell you if they will reduce the number of cells per pack if/when the energy density improves, or if they will just pass along the range improvement to customers.I just placed my order on Jan 18th so I'm hoping that this transition will be made before I get my delivery. If not I'm going to request that my delivery get pushed back. I really hope the FS wasn't meant just to use up all of the old battery chemicals before transitioning to the new formula. That would really suck.

Let me blow your mind with this - the window sticker will reveal the range and if the range is the same as all of the previous cybertrucks it isn't using the updated cells. You don't think Tesla will be the first one to pound it's chest and publish the increased range? I do not agree with your assessment at all. This is not something you'll likely be privy to. Even if they address the gen 3 cells beyond the rumor that they are now in the Q/A, they will likely not give you enough details to make your decision. You're going to end up having to make the choice with no more information than you have now.
unless, and hear me out... they use 10-20% less cells, so they can build 10-20% more trucks.Let me blow your mind with this - the window sticker will reveal the range and if the range is the same as all of the previous cybertrucks it isn't using the updated cells. Anyway I'll be picking my CT up with a check and if I don't like anything about it as far as fit, finish, or range goes I will be asking for a later delivery.
Uhm.... a gain?I thought the same way Coltpete but then realized what would an extra 16-34 miles really mean to me?
But removing cells will drop the voltage. So they must rebalance the arrangement, which changes the physical layout, and the charge/discharge profile, etc. And since it's a structural pack, they must account for the missing strength.unless, and hear me out... they use 10-20% less cells, so they can build 10-20% more trucks.
