New to the site and not typically a poster but I think I just need to vent. I have had the car for 6 days and 4 of those days in the shop. Like most of you I have been waiting for 4 years and finally received my truck on May 10, 2024 here in Franklin, TN. The process of picking up a $100k truck was a bizarre experience in itself. Walking up to a counter and signing some documents and being told the parking spot it’s located in was strange. It was like picking up a Hertz rental car. Not even a thank you or congrats.
First issue I had was the tonneau cover not being installed properly. The rubber dividers were getting caught when being closed due to the cover being uneven.

They tried to fix but then decided they will need it for the whole day. Put me in a rental and picked up at end of day. This was this past Monday.

Tuesday morning took my kids to school and decided to switch drive mode from the sport mode to custom. I then realized I was getting a warning about height not being able to adjust. I then noticed another warning that I missed about not being able to charge and that the truck needs service. Took it in and they put be back in a rental. Finished at end of day and apparently there was a hose that simply was not connected that made the car rise and lower.

Then, this morning I go out to the truck to take my girls to school and the truck is a complete brick. I cannot even open a door, unplug charger, open bed…I mean nada. Then Tesla had to literally send 3 different tow trucks with a total of 10 hours of waiting. I won’t bore you with the details but just simply an awful experience. None of the drivers, except for the last one, knew what to do, yet I had the Tesla service rep texting me that they will know what to do.

So now, at 9:33pm CST, I can only assume they have the car because I did not get any kind of confirmation nor any service notification in my app. Day 6 a brick in my driveway and day 7 will be in the shop. I really hope this is not common.
We were planning on taking this in a road trip but I really have my doubts. Anyways, thanks for listening and, again, just wanted to get this off my chest and share my experience so far. The few days I did drive it I absolutely LOVE it! But this experience has left a very bitter taste.

Sorry to hear.

Chalk it up to the First Adopter tax.

The Cybertruck is a high tech vehicle with many automotive firsts. Remember, the Cybertruck has been in production for less than 6-months. Various bugs will be addressed during the first 12-months of production.

Haha! They first gave me a Y and then the last time a base model S. Now I am just stranded at home with Uber credits offered. Haha!

I’d have none of that. For $100k I’d press them for their top end loaner. Every day if you have to to get it and until your CT is fixed. Hopefully at least if it’s a Y or S, but it’s got to have FSD and performance IMO. It’s only right for spending a $100k to get their top end loaner. Good luck! ?

Be patient with the service team, they’re just starting to figure out these beasts.

Too bad about delivery though. Showing a little enthusiasm is 100% free. I guess morale is down. ?

What a horrible experience. I feel your pain! Interesting I picked up my CuberTruck in Knoxville on May 10. Now have 450 miles on it and it has been working flawlessly. I'm waiting for the shoe to fall........fingers still crossed.

I got mine on May 5th in Texas. I feel that there were issues in the build quality that they address and since I picked it up in Texas, I may have benefitted from those improvements. I theorize that they built a bunch and sent them out of state so those ones would be slightly (like a week) older than the one built for me.

Mine has zero issues so far like what is being reported. A shop that has seen many cybertrucks come through for tints observed that my truck has no apparent imperfections in the panel gaps etc compared to what they've been seeing.

Sorry for your pain.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I think even if a wheel fell off of mine, I'd still love it like the ring in Lord of the Rings.

I'd echo other people's sentiment that with the layoffs, employee morale is probably low. Not knowing if you have a job tomorrow sucks.
