You referenced the price of the truck. I will steadfast deny any price increase until an official announcement from Tesla.
Oh man, I'm rooting for you/ us. I really am. I am the same way. With things crapping out how they are, in a weird way I agree even more. COGS may drop with all this out of desperation. I am hoping at least some of us get our pricing honored.

My initial theory was they in fact priced this truck with COGS pricing in mind for 2021, but COVID and inflation have derailed the reality of a 2021 release obviously, and now it's not only 2 years later, but also the landscape is much "worse".

Still, hopeful!

I think a lot of us are concerned. I just refuse to get frustrated about a problem which doesn’t actually exist yet.

Could this be a production delay :

Tesla Reportedly Looking To Change Giga Press Suppliers

Perhaps just one of the many stories ..
We really can’t know until the press appears in one form or another in Texas.

Tesla would be wise to be talking with multiple vendors for these machines regardless. They need a bunch and playing multiple vendors against each other can often have big impacts on service and pricing. I’d expect they would be talking with Bühler regardless. They are one of the biggest in this industry.

Yeah, Tesla (and IDRA) have openly admitted to talking to multiple vendors about the Gigapress. IDRA was the only bite, the only one willing to take on the job.

Now that it's been proven, though...

Typical company 2 supplier+ policy. Its all good.

We plan to build out to say 10 factories by 2030.

8 presses needed for each of the 6 new factories = 48 presses needed in the next 7 years.

IDRA can build say 6 per year=42. Not enough, or at best, no contingency.

I doubt very much anywhere close to $64K. They will probably charge customer $64K for just one of the installation techs.

I am sure for a 6t ot 9t giga press you will need to add many zeros.
So your saying 64kk? Or 64kkk?

MY 65k was the truck price. If I was guessing on a PRESS cost, dude... 40-60 million... at least. The press plates alone I'd bet are 2 million a pair.
