Mine seems to be working fine. It is a little more cautious on the buffer for the front than the rear, but it is functional. All Park Assist in every car I've ever driven always has a buffer. They always tell you to stop a few inches before impact. If one vehicle is 4 inches and the next is 7, it's hard to complain about a design flaw. As long as a given vehicle is consistent, it works great once you are used to it. I've been parking my CT consistently about an inch from obstacles, both front and back, now that I'm used to the calibration of the Park Assist.

Been using parking assist all morning (with chimes on)

- Works just fine for me
- Looks like heat map x-ray vision
- I miss bird's eye view from Powerwagon, but not deal breaker

Overall, not bad, just run of the mill parking assist to help you not bump into stuff. I'm not certain why people are complaining or what they were expecting.

?‍♂

Your mileage may vary

Agreed, but maybe there should be a sensitivity or distance setting.

I, like you, have the same sentiments. My first Tesla and I love it. First adopters will go through minor problems on first roll-outs of anything. Elon took the risk to making a extremely hi-tech vehicle and I thank him for it. These minor things ~ that aren't perfect ~ will be fixed.

I would suggest to all the whiners, sell their truck and wait 5 years and buy that model. And for the others that haven't purchased yet, the same if you're going to complain.

Dan the Man from Michigan

Maybe it's because the CT is my first Tesla, but I don't understand how a car company rolling out update after update is being dragged so mercilessly by the people who are benefitting from it. I've received three or four updates for my new Cybertruck in the less than a month I've owned it. And some updates have been significant. That would never in a million years happen with any other car.

I updated my CT with the latest update, and I immediately liked what they've done. I've been doing this for only a month and I can see how Tesla rolls stuff out and then refines it. It is so obvious to me that they are going to keep refining how the parking assist works. I can't imagine seeing this new feature and then getting all bothered about it not being pure perfection on the initial release.

You all might want to try taking a step back from the edge.

I tried it today. It needs work, especially gauging distance in the front, but it's not hard to adjust once you know how much it's off by. Seeing parking spot lines and curbs on your left and right is a huge help, and what I missed most about having this on the Model Y. The huge reverse indicator is helpful as well. Hopefully this is the first of a few much needed updates.

I downloaded the park assist.
what a disappointing update.
very buggy.. screaming and chiming STOP when it’s not even close to another car, post, tree, etc.

hoping future update fixes the bugs…. SOON!
Yeah, same results here. I just returned from the grocery store parking lot and parked and stopped according to the park assist. When I exited the truck the rear end was sticking out way to far for my comfort. Had to jump back in and drive forward a couple of feet.

I don’t think the FWD vision is using the front bumper camera. My observation has been that when an object disappears under the front hood and out of sight of the dash cam, the system generates the STOP, even though you have plenty of distance.

I’m sure TESLA will update the system. Just glad to have something at this point.

I agree, as is, a complete waste of time, looks so amateur and useless.

This needs a bit of work… I just downloaded it and the rendering is a bit fuzzy. I can’t tell whether it’s a boy or a girl on these ultrasound renderings ?.

Same here. I love it. Now im not backing up to hit the curb with my mud flaps or the supercharger.

Boy… was really hoping for better. Primarily distance in front to help with parking in the garage. Which is tight! I’ve gotten used to doing it with just the camera but was really hoping for some distances. Oh well.

The park assist is pretty pointless. With living in my truck camper on my tundra for 6 years I got used to only using the side mirrors with parking. And that’s still all I use for parking with the CT. I think people rely too much on technology for parking and then forget how to park. I can zip in and out of spots with just the mirrors and it’s not that hard.

Haha yeah i took pics to show my spouse. I suppose it's better to be more conservative than to tell you there is space when there isn't. They'll fix it. I do like that it draws the lane. Sometimes i can't tell if I'm over the line . I always back in.

I’ve read in the news that Tesla is erasing it’s past statements from their websites but the web doesn’t forget. EM eludes Cybertruck delivering its self to new owners.
