Dropped off CT today, even though it is scheduled for March 4th. Have no choice since without the ability to charge. They confirmed they ordered the part(s) which are on back order and have flagged to expedite....this is what they told me. Once the parts arrive should not take long to install. I am in an older Model S Plaid loaner which has FSD though it is v12 but having fun with it. They also said that they are seeing many CT with this issue and think that it will become a "recall." Will update through the process.

Drove over to the Supercharger, and it won't DC charge, either.

I'm at 8% and my SC appointment is not until March 2nd. I asked if I could stop by earlier, and they said they don't have the part in stock, that it's on the way and once it arrives they can take my truck.

So now I have to figure out how to make 8% last...
I dropped the truck off at the service center. Fortunately they were able to take it in. Still waiting on parts. Got a Model X loaner so we are all good.

Mine had the same error, but did it at about 78% battery, so I left for work that morning and then supercharged it on the way home. When I got home it started charging again but only at 24 Amps, PCS replaced just barely under the 50k.
How many amps do you charge?

How many amps are you charging at when at home?

I'm thinking the charging amperage may be the common denominator, I recently started charging my truck at 48 at home continuously to see if I can force failure.. I've always done 32 since I bought the truck so lets see what happens..

I've always charged at 48A, so far without issue. I'm unaware of any common thread to the PCS failures.

Presumably, the problem is not a fundamental design issue, but a high failure rate of one or more components. (I'm giving Tesla engineers the benefit of the doubt, as they have designed many electronic systems for millions of vehicles.)

I wonder if this means we can avoid this failure by not charging at 48amps.

I’m no rocket scientist but I’d assume so. Lower charge AMPS equals lower temps in the PCS. I guess this is one perk of me charging via 110v 🤠

But are we just avoiding the inevitable? 😂
Right. If my PCS is gonna fail, I'd rather it happen within the warranty period hahahaha

😅 I'll have to keep an eye out...

I'm on OG Beast, May 2024, been charging 48amps almost exclusively since taking delivery.

I'm wondering if Tesla has identified the culprit... faulty component? Full PCS? etc. I also don't understand the Backorder...Can't they produce several CTs per day? I'd think that would include all necessary components.

Good luck everyone!

I just noticed I was charging at 24/24A instead of 48/48A today. Service Mode shows PCS2_a127 but no user facing notifications. My Foundation Beast is at 66k miles so will be insisting that my service center do a good will repair...

I've also inquired in the past with my service center about the extended warranty "coming soon", and had also looked into the xcelerateauto warranty options. I just so happen to also be in the midst of purchasing a new Model Y... So hoping they will capitulate without much arm twisting.
