9!

I was nervous before delivery because of the few horror stories I had heard about horrible deliveries. Mine was simple and to the point. The Tesla rep knew the truck fairly well and was helpful and patient with me. I took over an hour to inspect the truck before I drove it off the lot.

I took delivery of an AWD on April 5.

I've experienced a few cliches that Tesla has helped me resolve like a dysfunctional tonneau cover. It's resolved now. Other than that the truck is in another world regarding drive comfort and maneuverability. Very impressive off road performance as well with the added off road features. I couldn't imagine driving anything else now. It's remarkable, no regrets. However I'm still disappointed in the range.

However, I'm impressed with the efficiency if you drive it conservatively (chill mode). I'm at 4100 miles and 377 Kwh/m. That's over the rated range.

Do you like it better than the Rivian? Pluses and minuses of each?

I’m still on a CT high. I’ve had for a month, two weeks of driving, a road trip, and then two weeks at TSportline who is transforming it into the coolest ride I’ve ever owned. I pick it up tomorrow. It’s like getting it a second time.

10 no hesitation. I have a Beast. This car is amazing. I truly never expected to like it that much. I thought it’d be a cool weekend toy but since I’ve received it I haven’t driven any of my other cars. It is that good.

Edit: I have to add for context that I never really was interested in getting an electric car and was not a Tesla fan either because I generally didn’t like their design so much. This totally changed my perspective on electric cars and Teslas.

Great question. This R1T is my 2nd. The white is my 1st. I also have a R1S.
+ R1T: Quad motor, HD surround view, expandable door and backseat pockets, separate driver's display, gear tunnel, huge frunk more efficient despite having quad-motor, build in flashlight/charger, camp speaker/charger, fully active and adjustable air suspensions with Electro-hydraulic roll control system, lots of different drive modes, very capable off road, very good all around view out the windows, Rivian is providing a free adapter to use Tesla's SuperCharging network
- R1T: Sparse service center, short bed, no glove box, seats looks great but not as comfy as Tesla's, high lifting high for frunk, poor induction phone charger, suspension not as compliant and quiet as my Cyberbeast but still plenty good. No electric tonneau cover at the time of purchase, the use of Tesla's SuperCharging network is limited to V3 or newer so many of the older ones are not available to Rivian, the reliant on 3rd party L3 charging means mostly having to use EA and EA is pricey, EA is by and large not that reliable and power delivery is spotty at best. Rivian's own L3 network is growing but no where near what it needs to be.

+ Cyberbeast: fast! Even faster than my Rivian with Quad-motor, steer by wire is dope, soon to be available FSD is a game changer, soon to be available Autopilot, huge 6.5ft bed, comfy seat, awesome adjustable active air suspension with lots of drive modes to choose from, lots of service centers around, awesome UI, software and hardware integration, stainless steel body, super strong chassis and body panels, very good forward and side view, shape like it belongs in Blade runner 2049:)cool:) , built-in super tough electric tonneau cover that you can stand on comes standard, faster L3 charge speed and can use all Tesla's SuperCharging network, in a pinch, can use other L3 with an adapter.
- Cyberbeast: Stainless steel smudges shows up easily similar to black colored car, rear view is limited, many features are yet to be activated, the black plastic fender Flares seemed flimsy compared to my Rivians, no HD surround view, not as efficient as my Rivian, so far, steer by wire takes some getting used to, attention magnet like flies to :poop:

Updates 5/17/2024
+ R1T: adjustable brake regen is spot on. Probably the best of all the EVs out there. Strong at all speed, feels very much like an electric bumper car, lift throttle and it will come to a control stop; a true model for 1 pedal driving ?. Cleaning my full glossy PPF'd R1T is simple; a California Duster mostly, to remove dust and soapy water to wipe up any #2 from birds or suicide bugs?
+ Cyberbeast: cleaning is easier than I thought, mostly Windex for everything, body panels, windows (except the hard black plastic). I use a California Duster to remove loose dust and dirt, followed by an extendable wand with microfiber pad soaked with windex, and scrub the whole truck. No polish, wax, sealant, ceramic, etc?
- Cyberbeast: Initial Brake regen was strong, similar to my R1T. 1 pedal driving all day long regardless of speed. Now, after the last OTA update regen falls back to pretty much like all Teslas, ok at low speed, medium to higher speed, you better be ready to use the brake pedal to complete your stop if you don't time it right. Tesla, please give us adjustable regen?
- Charging at Tesla's 250kW L3 is slow. Seems software limited ?. I went from 46-71% in nearly 25mins. It started out only at 139kW then almost immediately dropped to 125kW and thenbit was down hill it went to around 78kW near the end of my charge. Hopefully, overtime, Tesla will refine the charge curve to to improve the speed.

How excited were you before delivery?

10/10 faded to 4/10 - Delivery delay for unknown reason caused my excitement to start falling after week 3. Even after delivery was scheduled excitement stayed at about a 4.

When did you take delivery?

March 14th.

AWD or Beast?

AWD

How excited are you right now?

12/10 lol. Every day I get to drive a MF Cybertruck! How rare this moment is is not lost on me. Every day I walk into my garage and see him waiting for me I just smile.

Is owning the Cybertruck worth the wait?

In my experience, yes a million times over. I’ve never looked more forward to driving anything in my life before this truck. Sometimes I’ll just go for a drive with no specific place in mind. Just wanna drive it some more lol.

I was like a 7 before delivery. Thought about not giving my check at delivery because it looked shabby because it was dirty. Worried about the cost and looks. Now with almost 3 weeks of driving ownership, it is a 10. Absolutely love it and even my wife thinks is the best ever.

8 - I love it, but some of the newness and excitement has worn off after 43 days. I was the second one in SC, so I was a celebrity for a while.

Is owning a Cybertruck worth the wait?
Absolutely - IF you want a pickup truck and a Tesla in the same vehicle AND the truck fits your needs. However, If you own a brand new Model X and didn’t need/want a pickup truck, then maybe not. It’s the most polarizing vehicle of my entire lifetime, and probably for a long while. If you get one anytime soon, you will get lots of attention.

Had it since the end of February. 4k miles on it so far. Totally worth it man. Hang in there! It’s the most fun I’ve ever had behind the wheel!

Oh and a plus, someone drew a giant dong in the dust on the massive windshield while it was at the airport this week!

Can’t put a price on that kind of comedy!! ???

10/10. I must admit I was extremely skeptical of value (the $20k premium) before taking delivery. But oh boy it's a joy to drive! I think automobile industry in the future may be broadly classified as before the CT and after CT - everything is awesome, especially the steer by wire. It's an experience - pictures, reviews from others don't do enough justice and the negative talk by media/ bots is just trash (same as how the automotive mafia tried to kill Tesla with their narrative on the Model 3). If you can afford it, just go for it; I'm not sure if any reasonable fraction of people who bought it would actually regret buying it.

I drove model x before, also own a model S and I really like the drive on the cybertruck better. This is my first truck and probably will seldomly use it like a truck. It will be just there just in case, similar to like just in case there is a zombie apocalypse, I can use it protect the family.

Yeah totally agree. The 2018 metalic silver model 3 was good but my wife didn’t like it because she said it was not a comfortable ride. She has nothing but compliments for the cybertruck!!
