I have made about $10,000 since delivery April 10th. The loss revenue is my loss. Cost of doing business. The daily rental is $500. Or $250 for 6 hours. Or $100 for an hour and I stay with the truck.
Ok, this is most definitively worth the risk with this kind of return of investment. Thanks for the education and good luck. ??

The blind spots aren't that bad. No worse then other cars I've drive.
Especially an issue if you just rented the truck and aren’t aware of “potential” blind spot issues.

agree to disagree ??‍♂

It was rented out; and this is how I got it back. Driver is accepting responsibility but out of commission for 2-3 months.

Estimate is $28,000 and 7 weeks. It’s been 3 weeks sorting out the estimate

Hope to have it back on the road by mid September

I justed rented a CT on Turo as a test drive since I just couldn't wait. The front pillar is a serious issue. Its way to thick. I almost ran over someone at a crosswalk since I could not see out that front right side.
The A Pillars are certainly a challenge but the person renting the car out has to protect their vehicle and 'train' people how to use it. Otherwise I'd say any A Pillar problem is on the owner being negligent. I am not the kind of person that would rent his car out so I have a very jaded point of view here. That is, I think it is all on people that rent their cars out. They want the money and there is risk involved. End of story.

It's definitely chunky, but I found the A pillar on the Model X to be far worse as it's closer to the drivers head at all points along the pillar which means a similarly chunky pillar in the X blocks a disproportionately large section of the driver's field of view vis-a-vis Cybertruck. YMMV

Are you able to put it in Valley mode and place the only restriction to not delete The camera footage?

I would love to have that option. And I will dig into it more. But I think valet mode restricts so many other things that it might diminish the experience. I would be happy to know if a work around if anyone knows one. Thx

people tend to think everyone thinks as they do. So this might be a reflection on what you would do in that circumstance. As my actions reflect my own thinking. But you might be right. I will update in a couple of months.
Maybe use parental mode for renters and pin to lock glove box. That may limit renters from deleting files

I find this baffling. Look at the facts:

1) You rented your vehicle as a business.
2) The renter crashed your vehicle.
3) The renter is insured.
4) The estimated damages are $27K, but neither you or the renter have a good idea what the actual damages are or how long it will take to return to service.
5) The renter wants to bypass reporting the event, and pay out of pocket.
6) You are fine with that.

What am I missing here? What would have been wrong with telling him you preferred to go through insurance? Isn't that why we all pay insurance premiums? Isn't that the entire purpose of insurance?

OK, it's your life, your decisions. Just know that it's a lot easier to learn the easy way from other people's mistakes (rather than having to make all the mistakes yourself). In this case, you are making the learning first-hand. Good luck with that! No one lives long enough to make enough mistakes to become wise, only by observing others mistakes, and applying that knowledge to situations in your life, can one make good decisions.
There is one very obvious reason why someone would opt to pay out of pocket for a crash in a vehicle. ?

To the OP, you better hope he's 100% telling you the truth about the accident.

And if you're running a rental business without commercial insurance....eesh

It's no secret that there are many reasons why someone might opt to pay out of pocket and not report it to insurance (if that option were available).

My surprise was that the party with the damages would go along with that.

Different strokes for different folks, but I don’t know why anybody would want to take on renting out a cyber truck knowing it is going to get messed up long before you’ve made any good money on it

You should probably stick with your Bolt. It would have handled the impact sustained by the OP's Cybertruck with nary a scratch.

/s
I can buy a 2nd bolt for 28k.
But I getting a model 3.
