Pedal Recall done Fix 5/1/24 (took 3 hours for some reason)
Drove straight home, parked for 4 days. Left truck plugged into charger, ~250 miles of range.

Truck unresponsive 5/4/24
"Jumped" the Frunk open and "Jumped" the 48V battery.

Couldn't get the truck out of park - Roadside assistance contacted. They sent over two tow trucks - one to get the truck out of a low clearance underground garage and a flatbed to tow to Tesla. Waiting to hear back on a timeframe for repair & maybe a loaner or something so I can get around

Probably some kinda low voltage issue. PIcs attached for your amusement.

My truck is currently in service since 4/30 for the same reason. Estimated completion 5/10, hopefully.
It is the second time this happened to me , the first time it was in service but they couldn’t replicate the issue so they gave it back to me hoping it was only a glitch and wouldn’t happen again but a few days later happened.

Tow truck driver said it's the 5th in Dallas he's towed over to Tesla for the same issue - all of them around the same mileage 700-1000 miles.

He was surprisingly knowledgeable on how to jump the frunk/battery and place the vehicle into tow mode.

I have owned my truck for one month, just made my first payment and I have only had it in my possession for 7 days. The rest has been with Tesla in the service department.
I am not happy with the poor quality control and how equipment is failing on the truck.

My first model x performance this happened to. Put it In park then never turned on again. And wouldn't shift out of park. Tesla had some weird excuse saying it was due to some radio frequency at the hotel I was at. No clue what actually happened

Truck still at Dallas Service Center

Update from Service Center:

We are still in the process of diagnosing your truck, with how new that architecture is, my team is working with regional engineering support to
determine the cause of failure.
As soon as we know what exactly happened we will reach out.


Dunno what regional engineering means but sounds like I should start getting comfy in my loaner lol...

Update 5/8 AM
Headed to pick up vehicle today, looks like it's ready -

Concern: Car won't power on/enter drive took it here may 1st for pedal, completely dead a day after service.

Repair Notes: Customer concern is not active at the time of service. Reviewed vehicle log data and found cause of vehicle unable to power on to be due to insufficient coolant flow in the vehicle thermal system.

Performed coolant system fill procedure and found vehicle coolant system to have an air pocket that caused vehicle to shutdown. Performed extended coolant vacuum fill procedure and verified coolant system is properly filled and no air pockets remain.

Checked vehicle charging operation and test drove vehicle and verified proper operation.

Correction: Diagnosis: Low Voltage Circuit Integrity Check

Correction: Cooling System (Vacuum Refill)

Parts Replaced or Added
COOLANT- ETHYLENE 1.00 GLYCOL- 50/50 MIX G48(1029320-00-A)
