Who buys a 1/2 ton truck to tow travel trailers? I think a more revealing test would be towing 3500 lb. flatbed trailers, each with a carbon copy of the tow vehicle secured to the flatbed.

Oh, wait, scratch that, it would put the Ford Lightning over its rated tow limit!
I think both would be good. Also, a 24 foot ski boat.

Using Rapid chargers are more expensive than home charging & will degrade the battery in the long run!

Should not affect battery life significantly if you use a Supercharger. It is definitely more expensive for me.

I had a friend with a Model S doing Taxi & was using Supercharger quite often & notice the degradation of the 90kw battery. Mind you, he was not doing the low 20, high 80 when charging!

If you charge your car to 100% on a slow charger all the time you have the same issue. The fast charger just makes it easier to abuse.

My RAV get 10.4 l/100km in winter and 10 in summer average. Winter tires has biggest impact. Northern BC has gas stations but few chargers. Need 500+miles range.
It still has fewer gas stations than outlets. Probably has more RV camps with hookups than gas stations.

I think we will still see the 500 stated range, there hasn't been a change and I expect with the given amount of extra time the CT has had in development they're throwing the kitchen sink at it, and with that, I expect to see V2 or V3 battery cell technology of the 4680s at that time which can outperform the 2170s.
Tesla had said that 4680 availability is what drives the CT ramp. They aren't going to choose to build two 500 mile vehicles when they can make three 300 mile trucks with the same amount of batteries.

I agree, and I doubt I will be willing to pay for the quad motor. I'm not expecting dual motor 500 mile much before 2026.

They said they had all the batteries they need

They didn't say we have enough batteries if we compromise.

Whichever version they choose.... They have batteries.

They didn’t say they have enough into the future, only that they had enough for current needs. Cybertruck wasn’t included in that statement. It requires 4680 cells.

They reached 1000 packs per week and they must have increased since then.

People say we are only producing 10,000 CT in 2023... well ?

Its either we will romp it in, or we may start running into problems if we need 100,000.

Or maybe the Nevada expansion is telling us 4680 is ready to rock and roll.

I think it will as well. The number of 4680 Model Ys I’ve seen lately has been encouraging. But I’ve also heard that none of the 4680 cells manufactured in Texas have been shipped in cars.

I think they are waiting until the cathode factory is live.

Maybe we will all be happily surprised and the 500+miles of range for the CT will be while towing max weight (like the semi). I will keep dreaming until the final specs are released.
Could be l'm the one dreamin' as l see a 175 kWh pack with a usable ~ 163.3 kWh giving ~507 miles. With efficiencies that Tesla can 'pull out of the hat' you'd be MAD to be unhappy, with say ~300+ miles towing!
I could be in a Dream State.
