Could be l'm the one dreamin' as l see a 175 kWh pack with a usable ~ 163.3 kWh giving ~507 miles. With efficiencies that Tesla can 'pull out of the hat' you'd be MAD to be unhappy, with say ~300+ miles towing!
I could be in a Dream State.
The problem is most of the efficiencies Tesla can squeeze out involve weight reduction and aerodynamics. Toss a trailer on the back and that all goes out the window. Or at least a big chunk does.

CT TRI was around 6700lbs originally, so today with castings front and back, plus other changes to 'build' for manufacturing effecientcies and performance, CT may surprise everyone. ( 'Best part, is no part' Philosophy)
In 2019, ran some estimates of Cd 0.33 with a best case of Cd 0.30.
Elon has since said he expects CT to have Cd 0.30
You never know what might be in a few months Time. It's getting BLOODY EXCITING.

Tesla has innovated whatever it touched.

It even defied physics with the Semi. Not quite, it defied our ability to factor in innovation.

The CT will be the same.

Who needs a long range battery when a rapid charge battery is a better solution? It would be smaller and lighter.
Me too.
My trip to the mountains is only 85 miles, but straight up a hill with no charging infrastructure, and im doubtful it will ever have fast charging enroute..
500 miles is minimum for towing.
My Rivian barely makes it with 5% battery when I arrive under ideal conditions and taking "Slow".
Below is my best guess for the Cybertruck

Both are important, but having lost a fair amount of range for our Model Y on last month's winter drive to Denver and back, I would not want to lose any range on the CT, especially if towing something. Also, most will recall from the unveiling that the range figures all had '+' sign by them, meaning that, for the tri-motor trim, the range would be 'at least' 500 miles.

When Tesla demonstrated the Semi actually getting 500 miles with a full load, and even going up the Grapevine along the way, I began wondering if the 500 miles they are quoting for the CT will include payload or towing a trailer. THAT would be a game changer. A work truck needs to be able to do these things so if Tesla wants to blow the story wide open their actual range should include cargo/towing in them. I would not care one bit if it was "up to 500 miles" if it is real miles with a real load. I'd be stoked.

Rivian aside:

Below quote via:
https://www.teslarati.com/rivian-r1t-r1s-range-improvements-2023-02-03-release-notes/
Rivian improved the range on its R1T and R1S vehicles with the new Software Update version 2023.02.03.

Rivian rolled out the update on February 7, and along with improvements to R1 key fobs and alerts potentially unlocked doors, the automaker has added “Improved EPA – Estimated Range Numbers” as well:

“Thanks to various incremental improvements over previous software updates, this update includes updated EPA-estimated range. The update also increases the depth of discharge, which increases the usable battery energy. You will now see higher available miles at the top of charge.”

Range is EPA ratings, which does not include a substantial load or trailer.

At 500 mile CT towing a heavy trailer even 300 miles is unlikely. Towing 250 per charge is a major improvement compared to today and would satisfy most pickup owners.

I am not talking about EPA range and am not sure I care what they say. What I ‘am’ saying is that Tesla quoted a 500 mile range for the Semi and then showed that it could get more than 500 miles, pulling a full load, and going up an extreme incline part of the way. So why not dream of them doing the same with the CT?

?Road-trip are not very popular on a small island like Hawaii. Heck, driving just five miles in Hawaii seems like a enternity. You people are blessed with the massive amount of land in the continental USA.

?Some of you people are going to use the Cybertruck in a commercial application in heavy duty mode. That’s serious hauling!

?Limited charging opportunities in route makes us want a higher capacity battery the top priority from being stranded.
