I’d like to point out that on reveal day the screen said 500+ miles. Now the website says “up to 500 miles”. That subtle difference changes the meaning significantly.
I mean… ?? If they delivered only trucks with 200 miles range would that be considered “Up to 500 miles”?

I post Cybertruck stuff on the Internet and people like it.

Who needs a long range battery when a rapid charge battery is a better solution? It would be smaller and lighter.
Better for consumer AND Tesla since they’d own the charging infrastructure, we’d hypothetically also get a cheaper truck that way too

Less than one percent does any towing in either a ICE or EV. Business usually caters to the 99%.
that is a horribly inept and out of touch take.
Every single truck I own in my fleet tows frequently and lots of them tow 100% of the time

Not sure about those stats. 75% of F150 owners tow:

I am sure the CT is not for the 99% and the 500mile trim will be bought by the 1%
I've towed a large variety of things, big and small, for my entire adult life but I can't think of a single time it was over 100 miles. Firewood, landscaping rocks, bobcats, boats, kayaks, purse seine nets, crab pots, lumber, sheetrock, a gazebo, garden shed, etc. Generally 25 miles or less. Oooops! I just thought of one. I was moving from Montana back to Washington 32 years ago and I had a little flatbed trailer to fit all my worldly possessions on. Yeah, any old Tesla with 300 miles range (about 200 towing that trailer) would have been fine for the 600 mile trip.

75% towing once in awhile isn't a contrary to 99% of the miles being not-towing.

Maybe so…but that’s not the statement I responded to which was:
“Less than one percent does any towing in either a ICE or EV.”

key word ANY towing.

if y’all fine with 300 miles or less, great.
theres been many many instances in 4 years with my LR model 3 with “300 mile “ range where I wish I had atleast another100 miles. And I dont tow.
Cold weather, mountain passes and even a bike rike make (drag sucks down range huge) the car a considerable concession for my needs.

if you commute in urban environments then needs are different. For me anything less than 400 mi ev range (=~280 miles ICE) is a non starter and that’s without towing.

😊Like I said, your fleet suggests that you have a business.

I know this hypothetical is obvious, but for many owners, it may only mean waiting to charge once per month

IF driving 140m (225km) per week, and you have a solar tonneau

In a blink of an eye, the tech has gone from 720k 3.5" floppy to 10 meg hard drives.

I wouldn't expect 600 miles of range on ANY versions of the Cybertruck unless you just like to be disappointed. Tesla has never even hinted that even their longest-range variant would be anything close to 600 miles. Remember, the Cybertruck is supposed to affordable and practical so it can disrupt the 1/2 ton pickup market in high volumes, not be an impractical trophy prize like the Hummer EV that weighs over 9,000 lbs and costs well into six figures.

Highly recommend NOT roasting marshmallows over an open Bolt fire. :)
I didn't know Tesla changed the range on the web page. That isn't good news at all :-(
