Not sure if I'm the only one on here who doesn't particularly need a "pickup truck" but I do want something with the following features:
  • Decent overlanding off-road performance (ground clearance, 4WD, etc)
  • Lots of cargo space
  • 3 rows of seating
  • Comparable towing ability to the Cybertruck
  • The awesome styling and technology of the Cybertruck
  • Reasonably fast acceleration (0-60 in the low 4's or better)
In the ICE world you can get the first four things out of a 4WD Suburban or Sprinter Van. If Tesla followed up the CT with a massive SUV or van based on the same platform and using the same parts and somehow kept the cool styling I would definitely prefer it! In the meantime I'll still be very happy with the truck though 😁

...so a Cybertruck skin on a Rivian R1S?

BTW, I'd be a CyberSUV buyer as well and would prefer it to the Cybertruck, I don't need the bed.
Yes but bigger than the R1S. The R1S and the Hummer EV SUV are both smaller in length than their truck counterparts. I want something the same height and width as the Cybertruck, but at least as long as it too, if not a couple feet longer even.

I would be very surprised if by the time they have GM up and running they haven't introduced a van/SUV variant of the CT platform

I would happily sack the tonneau cover to gain a midgate and a manual interior / exterior convertible storage area, a la Audi Activesphere (but bigger).

How awesome will that be? Being in the back seat as the truck is doing off-roading with 4 second acceleration runs!!!

Where can I order the barf bags?

I would certainly appreciate and would have interest in a ”Cyburban” which would incorporate the range extender module into the build. But If it would not have boat mode I will have to stick with the Cyberbeast!

Keep in mind Tesla does like to maximize platform leverage with their production vehicles post-original Roadster:
- S/X: basically same chassis, motors, interior, etc.
- 3/Y: basically same chassis, motors, interior, etc.
- Cybertruck and CyberSUV: basically same chassis, motors, interior, etc. Similar to Rivian R1T and R1S.

Might as well get as much platform leverage as possible!

Or better yet: “Aquarium or Nautilus mode” submerged just below the top of the vehicle so the wind screen is 75% submerged………. Of course there would be a forward velocity limit….
Can’t hurt to dream…….
