Yea he’s since apologized for misspeaking, and extended an offer to Protectaclear to go to Colorado and film a video with a proper tutorial. He pinned his statement in the comments of the video.
Maybe he got his $5000 after all ?

You’re paying $2500? Wow…
I'm terrible at that sort of thing, I'm not a DIY'er. It'll still end up being less than half the cost of PPF. Seems worth it to me

It's the worst case of "conflict of interest" ???
LOL! I have no conflict of interest and yet I feel even more pissed. Especially having to strip off the product at my own expense, after all the time I put into making it work. Corporations will be corporations, just steamrolling over consumers while gaslighting them as morons.

He really seems like a nice guy in his video... But I've been very happy avoiding his advise to use Windex with ammonia, which is bonkers for a pro... He really should know better now by his second video about this.

And use the protectaclear at your own risk. It is not easy to remove, regardless of what they say.

Sorry, Windex and Protectaclear promoters...

Ammonia is a great cleaning agent but it shouldn't be considered a final application which I don't believe they've said.
From the Tesla Cybertruck Owner's Manual:
For spot cleaning: Use a glass cleaner and microfiber cloth. Spray glass cleaner and wipe in a zig-zag motion when cleaning large areas, such as entire panels.

Use isopropyl alcohol wipes (such as those used to clean glasses or screens) to clean away small stains.
I'm reminded of the South Park episode when Apple couldn't get users to read the Terms and Conditions and they sewed a few people together into a human cent-iPad.

You can certainly use ammonia free Windex or glass cleaner on Stainless. But again...

"No, it is not recommended to use (regular) Windex on stainless steel due to its ammonia content, which can cause damage and discoloration over time."

Key Points:

  • Windex is not recommended for cleaning stainless steel.
  • Ammonia present in Windex can cause damage to stainless steel.
  • Over time, Windex can also cause discoloration on stainless steel.
  • Avoid using Windex to maintain the quality of stainless steel.
  • There are alternative cleaning methods suitable for stainless steel.
  • It is important to use products specifically designed for stainless steel cleaning.

It and the use of some oil based cleaners are the primary reason the new trucks finger print so easily.

Understand?

I had great success (click on my posts to see my detailed review). For me it is a miracle product as the fingerprint piles were killing me and now I have zero fingerprints on the stainless.

Reading through the many posts on this product, I suspect there are two types of owners. Perfectionists and lovers of beauty who bought a $100k car and want it to look as amazing as it is to drive will be greatly disappointed by the imperfections that arise from applying this product yourself. Utilitarians and lovers of function who bought a massively capable truck and want to protect it so it looks better will find the $300 and a day of your time will be one of the best things you ever did.

For anyone who received their ProtectaClear kits prior to 3/26/24, please reach out to us and we will send you, free of charge, the new applicators that we have found to work better for easier application. We want everyone to be successful with their project and these applicators are included with the new kits.

You missed the third kind, which is people who are willing to pay professionals to apply it. I'm not the kind of guy to try to wrap my own car in PPF, why would I try to apply this coating myself? If you want the best results, hire somebody who does this for a living

I took possession of my CT the last week of April and went on a road trip from Utah to California. I had purchased the Protect-A-Clear kit before the truck arrived. I did the application in Monterey California in my son’s driveway. I followed the directions with no problems. After a week or so I noticed a few spots I had missed or had applied to light of a coat. I called the company and they were great at answering my questions. I then applied to those areas I missed. It turned out great. I now have over 7,000 miles on the CT. I use automatic car washes in car wash mode and sometimes wash it myself. I am very happy with the product. I have no problems with fingerprints. Good luck.
