Has Tesla been good about fixing panel alignment issues or do they just want you to take it as is?

Stuff like this is not bad but it's right in the eye line and I'd want to try and fix it but not sue if you can.

The front and rear edges of this roof panel must be tricky to align. Anyone get this resolved at the service center? I have an appointment on 4/29.

I also wonder how the dealer will fix it, or if the fix might create other problems. i.e. such as the way the finish matches, or new scratches.

The three I've seen all have this. Mine is not as high as this but I think they mess up the front and rear panels and then they feel the gap being even from top to bottom is better than lowering the top trim and making the bottom of the gap wide and the top narrow.

Even if the top trim is adjustable, you can't lower the front end.

My front doors are also a little proud at the back edge that meets the front of the back doors and I'd totally adjust them if I knew how.

I understand the front and rear section of the thin SS trim piece is bolted on and the remainder uses clips that snap into place.

this misaligned section is unacceptable

Let the folks at the Service Center fix it. Is it going to kill you to wait?

Most of the alignments are easy to do if you know what to do and have the correct tools. They've gotten pretty good with it over the years.

Did anyone have any luck at a service center for this? I got it on my passenger side and as I looked over the service manual https://service.tesla.com/docs/Cybe...UID-7B9154B0-0197-413A-899A-0FF3FA01B788.html it looked like a bunch of T20 Torx and some weather stripping but can't tell of that cantrail actually is allowed to be manipulated and actually have the fitment stick when you tighten it back up.

I saw this also. Mine is a little off, but SS said it was in spec. From the manual, it looks like we might be able to access the aft most bolt after pulling down the weather stripping. Tightening it a little might pull the strip down enough to make it less unsightly.

I gave it a shot but it didn’t seem to have much play to work it backwards. Seems like the stainless is adhered to this black metal with the T20 Torx which may be why it’s out but I didn’t want to try popping the whole thing off. My front is lined up so I had hoped you could just massage it back a little to fill the gap. I’ll have to get a ladder to look behind it from the top.
it’s just really something I saw, but has little to do with function haha. Can live with it.

I have a very very small amount of this at the rear junction. If you notice, it is right at the insertion site for the cross bars. I’m hoping the crossbars will take attention away from it.

I'd much rather fix something myself if I can. Any time a car goes into a dealer it ends up with more scuffs and scratches.
That may be.

But Tesla doesn't have dealers, so what does that have to do with this thread?

Give them a chance, most people are happy with their service.

Not helpful. Who cares what I post in a thread I started about trying to fix issues with the vehicle and not wanting others with less time and or concern to work on it?

They are just people and you can get folks that care and some that don't. Maybe I have bad luck or you should just get in the vehicle, take off and never look it over on delivery or after a service.

The first and second trucks both came with scratches.
This was after the first service for other issues. Also scuffed up the white part of the dash on the second.

If you want to do it yourself, just look it up in the Service Manual.

Tesla Service has been tweaking alignments on the cars for years. They don't tend to come away worse than they arrived.
