I had to drop my FS AWD at the SC for some fixes. They gave me a Cyberbeast loaner. Besides the obvious things like interior changes and beast mode I've been paying attention to other things like ride, sounds, squeaks and rattles. Beast launch is cool but not sure it's worth the price difference for me for the second faster. Now my truck is a 16k vin and the beast is 33k vin. Below are seems things I noticed so far.

1- Different sounds with motors as I guess you'd expect with three vs two. The one thing I noticed with this particular truck is there is a noticeable high pitch whine at cruising speeds that I don't have in AWD. This was across all modes. This was a positive for my AWD for me.

2- The ride suspension and steering seems better than my AWD. Smoother and less twitchy. Normal speed bumps, pot holes and road issues the beast seems smoother along my daily commute. My AWD feels like the suspension bottoms out or clunks a little over the same terrain. I thought it was normal behavior. I notice it going over speed bumps where my AWD feels like hits harder where the beast seems softer. I feel like I should mention this to SC.

3- Air compressor on the beast seems more quiet than mine and it doesn't seem to work as much. I hear a puff when it adjusts but on AWD I notice it working more and seems louder.

It's been good to drive another cybertruck for comparison but I guess now I have some questions that I will ask the SC to have a look. The speed difference is cool, no doubt about that but I wanted to scrutinize ride, comfort, squeaks, rattles to see if my experience was my truck versus issues all CTs have.

Has anyone else had the opportunity to compare and contrast?

I like it but when they gave me the loaner I had to run to the back to look for the logo and the alcantara dash. I kinda wish there was a bit more nuance or difference between the models appearance wish. I actually cleaned the dust off the cerberus logo to see it.

AWD here; I never hear the air compressor at all. I “might” have heard it the one time I went off-road on a closed course.

I use custom ride profile, rode higher (generally always at medium height unless at 75mph +), and firmer sport handling, chill acceleration (tires).

I’ve manually raised it highest in traffic to wig out people and it settles to medium auto later and always settles to entry / egress height when getting out.

I remember hearing it plainly before ordering when I test drove an AWD on unsupervised test drive for an hour.

That was definitely an earlier build being months prior.

I’ve driven both, side by side and I choose the beast for the added acceleration. I was coming from a MX Plaid so the AWD seemed a little lacking in that department!

I have a CB, and I test-drove both trucks. The CB is what I chose for the ride and comfort, as I felt it was better than the AWD.

Part of what you are noticing probably has to do with your vin being so low. The compressor and suspension specifically.

The CB does have a higher pitch whine when accelerating but I don't know about cruising, I don't here it then.
The suspension programing is different between them but I've noticed that primarily in beast mode. It does have tighter steering, more aggressive acceleration, and more firm suspension in beast mode.

If you put them both in comfort or normal I would expect similar steering, suspension, and acceleration reactions.

There are very limited part numbers that are different between the two models implying much of what is different is in programing.

What I've learned is every CT off the line is completely different, or we all have challenges communicating in measurable terms.

For every person that has screaming CB motors (self included), there's someone who has never had a more quiet vehicle.

At this point it has become impossible for me to navigate what is fact or fiction, outside of shared measurable details. Or maybe it isn't fact or fiction at all, maybe there genuinely is wide variances from vehicle to vehicle.

I can get behind that. My cyberbeast and my buddies both drive differently. I drove mine quite a bit before driving his and I definitely like mine better. I've also driven a few hundred miles in a cybertruck and the performance differences are a real factor as well.

I own the CB and it's a step change upgrade compared to the AWD. AWD feels naked to me.
please put some context to ‘naked’… what is not on (or can not be purchased separate) the AWD that really stands out..

besides the obvious 3rd motor and Temporary Tattoos..

I too came from a MX Plaid, but went for the AWD instead. The number of times the 1020hp was useful was quite low, and aside from on-ramping the freeway at 140mph I don't really miss it for the price difference. Love having the bigger motor in the back.

The Acceleration and handling is noticeably different. Actually feels like a real sports car when driving it compared to the AWD.

Also, I love the how the motors sound, like a spaceship when accelerating/regen braking.

This was one vehicle that I was ready to splurge on and wanted zero fomo on it so I'm glad i picked the CB because I know I would have wanted it when having the AWD.

I had an even quicker S Plaid and went for the AWD, 0-30mph doesn't seem much different - traction limited. The Sl Plaid pulled harder, longer, but I prefer the RWD of the AWD vs running front-wheel drive most of the time which is how the Beast operates. Also nice to have two real lockers in the AWD vs one in the Beast should you ever need the extra traction. Nothing wrong with the Beast, it's an amazing machine, but for the purpose the AWD works better for me and still has plenty of kick. Really wished the S/X Plaid and Beast would come with bigger brakes, my S Plaid was dangerously underbraked for 1,020 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of forque. Can gain speed quicker than you can think, but slowing it down...wow, that took some planning. It's no 911 Turbo/GT3!
