Maybe we all need to carry a roll of black gaffing tape to cover the light bars? It may be less expensive than having a cover 3D printed!
This was going to be my approach. Blackout tape on it 99% of the time.

I got my Beast Sept 28 2024, and they installed the Offroad light bar Dec 28, if that gives you any idea of how long it takes to get one.
I picked up my Beast May 7 and got the off-road light bar installed Dec 24. That's only after I hounded them for 2 months.

I accepted delivery July 3rd, 2024 and NO word on the offroad light bar. Not that it is anything that will be regulary used but the look is cool and in an emergency, hurricanes and such, it would have a purpose.

You beat me to making this suggestion in a post. Sounds like a win win.

I should point out also that I scheduled the truck for service and they added the lightbar to the service appointment. Maybe scheduling service helped? Who knows?
No it doesn’t. I had serval service appointments and they didn’t add the LB. I even made an appointment just for it. But they wrote back and asked if I received an email showing I had one. I replied that I only had one from last July that showed “I was in queue “. That did not fly, and they canceled my appointment.
But, I did get one year free SC in lieu of the $4K home powershare credit. For me, it was worth it.

Yep, California for one requires off road lightbars to be covered when on road.
Maybe the legalities of installation will be enough to coerce Tesla into offering the FSC option.

Our CA is stupidest and we need a new governor.
Pretty much every state has strict laws that ban the use of auxiliary lights (such as light bars) on public roads. They are just as dangerous as undimmed high beams. In some cases, like with roof-mounted light bars, they are worse.

Some states -- including PA and VA, not just CA -- go a step further and require auxiliary lights to be covered on public roads. That way, they aren't a problem even if accidentally switched on. Some people get covers even if they aren't legally required, as cheap insurance to protect other drivers (and to protect themselves from getting ticketed) if the auxiliary lights are turned on by mistake.

The stupidity here is with Tesla's design. Auxiliary light manufacturers typically offer inexpensive covers, or design lights that can be easily detached and reconnected. Telsa didn't think to offer a cover, and uses glue which prevents the light bar from being detached. So the easiest way to make the light bar road-legal in states that require covers is to use tape.

It didn't have to be this way. A better Cybertruck light bar design is available here.

Probably not, because Tesla is well aware of the legal issues with the light bar, and their lawyers have already developed workarounds. To avoid liability, Tesla will only install your lightbar with opaque tape attached, and even then it's not functional; it's up to you (or a third-party installer) to remove the tape and make the final electrical connections. Check out the legal disclaimers in the official Telsa intallation guide:
CAUTION
The blackout film tape must be installed on the lightbar prior to delivering the vehicle to the customer. Only the customer or a third-party entity is permitted to remove the blackout film tape.
WARNING
Tesla employees are not permitted to remove the blackout film tape from the lightbar. Do not remove the blackout film tape from the front side of the lightbar.
WARNING
Tesla employees are not permitted to connect or assist with the connection of the Cybertruck off road lightbar harness to the roof accessory jumper harness connector. Only the customer or a third-party entity is permitted to complete the lightbar harness connection.
When lawyers have to edit vehicle service instructions, it's not a good sign.
