What’s the purpose of the frame thing on the top? A place to put tools and such while working on it?

I think it is for tools and for safety, but mostly stability. Think standing on the top few steps of a ladder versus a few steps down. Having something to grab is nice. I’m not getting any younger so the option to have a handrail is no small thing. You can always leave it down. Those giant steps and stable feet are a thing of beauty. Especially when getting out of my tent.

Sorry, but this is ridiculous. Every 1/2 ton truck that I know has some mechanism to get into bed. Darn it, let us install a kick out step or something at least!

Tesla design team never thought of this?!

it is like designing a two story house but forgetting to build a stair to get to it.

Fair point but I want on point out that a little standalone ladder has other uses in the Cybertruck because of the sloped design. Reaching into the bed form the side near the cabin is often impractical as compared to say an f-150 so having a ladder to get up on and do that is often pretty useful.

Yet another missed opportunity…why not make an indent on the side for step up to access bed from side, esp given the slope design! CT is a ground up design…all of these could have easily been designed.

Indent on the side with rubber pad to step. Design a pop out stand from the driver’s side underneath bed…heck sell it as an accessory for $$. This is not rocket science !

I ended up buying 2 of them! So much easier to climb up into the bed now

Yeah. It’s a cool gadget. Almost pulled the trigger on it. Suspicion I may be getting it for Father’s Day so I stopped short.
