They are constantly being load and unloaded multiple times, driven up and down ramps with inches of clearance on each side. It easily could have rammed into something or something into it.

Sure, but it bent the quarterpanel edge without also damaging the door? And it would take a lot of force to bend HFS.

looks weird they are small little bends but from far away it looks worse.

Those waves in the metal are not right. I would take it back to service. My truck doesn't have that. My truck does have some slight wavy metal on the steel next to the sail applique. But it doesn't bother me and is rarely noticeable.

it’s really hard to get the right angle in a photo.
if you look straight on, it looks fine. It’s just from a far distance you can see it. I walked around the car day of delivery and everything looked good. It wasn’t until I parked it and came from a distance when I noticed it. You can see it like looking top down. But it’s really subtle bend

Take it to the service center and tell them it's ugly. It's literally brand new truck, have them fix it.

Tell them I told you that Elon said they'd make it right, they'll know what you mean.

It looks bent. It can't hurt to ask.

Do you have a view looking down the side of the vehicle? It's hard to tell what we are looking at from such a perpendicular view.

After waiting 5 years I let my enthusiasm get away from me and now am suspect of Tesla's delivery practices in Rogers MN. I live about 47 miles north west of the closest SC. My NFS-CT arrived at the SC some time on Friday from Chicago. I arrived about 15 minutes early of my scheduled pickup time (12:00 pm) the next day. The CT was sitting out on the lot along with the rest of the load from Friday with the rest of the CT shipment. (I looked for my VIN). The sales person greeted me and said,, " Hello congratulations on your new CT. Your truck is still being cleaned".. Woah!! why did he feel the need to flat out lie. All of a sudden I felt like I was interacting with a snake slithering regular car lot.

Turns out the Sales person was also the detail-er, window washer, and likely "Mechanic on Duty". He presented the truck to us inside the shop in poor lighting. Additionally he had a bottle of cleaner and a rag in his hand, praising the looks of a filthy CT. Evidently the windows were down while it was in Austin. The dash was covered in thick Texas dust , I couldn't safely see out of the windshield. Tempted as I was to refuse the vehicle, I considered the imposition to my family, and after ,y best efforts to critique the quality and craftsmanship of the vehicle, I noticed some blemishes on the body as well. Lastly I notices waves in the same location as the OP, but only after racking up 410 miles. I decided to vent my frustration through the Survey. I was polite, but I didn't hold back.

Update: it is currently in service and tesla is covering everything and is going to fix my side panel.

That pic looks bad, but mine at a distance looks like it has bends, but up close looks smooth like butter... I feel it's just how the panels were created that give it that look... I feel if you wrap it, that look goes away.

The after is on the top.
they had the truck for 26 days. They fixed some other minor stuff and then sent it off to collision. I’d say they did a good job!

They were really good about replacing anything i complained about. I had some waviness in my a pillar stainless diagonal pieces, but that turned out to be a design flaw due to the clip locations... everything else they fixed, even months after delivery.

Just a FYI that isn’t a “sales person” you already purchased the truck that’s some clown making minimum wage not doing his job properly. Hardly would blame that part on Tesla. You should have complained about him to his superior so they got more people out there to clean it up and because you didn’t he probably is still doing it to others . Now the real problems for sure you have a gripe. Glad they are fixing the problems.
