I took delivery of my truck a couple weeks ago and this weekend while washing I noticed the Tailgate Skin is loose and flexing. I also have this issue on the right rear quarter panel. On my foundation truck these were solid. I think the Adhesive is letting go on my Tailgate and Right rear quarter panel. Ive seen others report this issue as well. Anyone have any experience with this?
They should replace it, once they do let me know if it looks like they are using new glue

I thought this is how it was too untill I saw someone’s comment about it. Got an appointment for Wednesday to get it fixed. I wouldn’t really mind but there was a mark on my trunk that was bothering me either way so two birds one stone I guess

I agree it may seem petty and Insignificant but I need this truck to last and you only have one chance to make it right when its still new. Who knows what kind of heartache down the road this may cause.

Went in to Service and they replaced my canttrails. I almost wish they hadn’t, the fit is worse than the old one. It was all flush before. I am thinking of reporting back and see what they can do about it. Should I?

Why can't ppl just do it right!?

If it was flush-ish before, there's no reason it can't be flush again.

It's an adjustment they can make. Will need to check before I leave when they finally do it. I'd suggest you go show them...

I know they can adjust it. We all know that. The question is: why in the world do these techs return someone's truck back to the customer like this? That's ridiculous.

Guesses: probably takes more time and most people don't care/complain. Not just a Tesla thing, seems like all of society has lost their "pride of their work"...

Use to know a lot of dealership techs; they were paid by the job, not hourly. So some of them were making ~100hrs/week in book time, but actually working ~40hrs. If Tesla techs are paid the same, it could be cause the pay structure motivates them to close jobs ASAP and get to the next one. Not saying it’s right, just giving a probable cause.

Or they simply don’t give a shit. ?
