My 12/28 Cyberbeast FS order originally said Mid-Late 2024. Now the configurator says "EST. DELIVERY OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2024".

FWIW AWD originally said Jan 2024-Mar 2024 and now says "EST. DELIVERY JULY - SEPTEMBER 2024".
That's exactly what happened to me.

If anyone figures out an easy way to do it please share. Not seeing anything convenient in the app or through the website at the moment.
I didn’t have the option to Edit, once I selected Manage Order. So, I called and they said that they would call me to Verify the order before they sent me a VIN, which I didn’t believe. Then I sent them a text message asking if I could change it to Tactical Grey, and they made the change for me, and sent a new Order Agreement.

Thanks! I did the same this morning but waiting on a confirmation. Sounds easy enough to switch panels out down the road but who knows when they be available outside of what’s going to be used in regular production so I don’t mind waiting a bit longer now. Never know what else they may improve in the meantime.

Up until now, I believe we were all operating on the assumption that "Foundation series" was a limited run with no options to simplify the ramp. It seems odd that they would now offer options and still call it "Foundation series," right? Any chance that the term "Foundation series" is a longer running descriptor of the trim level of the truck? So maybe in a year or two you can still order the max spec "Foundation series" or the entry-level "Bedrock series" or something?

Also: Beast ordered 12/26, RN 112778***, FL, No VIN yet, No option to edit configuration.

Why? Should the other optional parts sit around the factory while they're still building Foundation Series, if people want them?

At some point the options need to be ramped up, too.

It wouldn't surprise me if Tesla ran the Foundation Series for 2024 and 2025 before switching to "regular" orders in 2026. Probably enough demand for Foundation for another 18 months or so.

This may not have been the original plan, but with growth slowing and the "hardcore" layoffs it might be the plan now to juice the margins a bit while demand is strong on Cybertruck. That would probably push the CyberSUV back a year, but prob makes sense. Yes, there will be a CyberSUV. Tesla typically builds more than one vehicle - see S/X, 3/Y - on the same basic chassis and the Cybertruck has plenty of length to enclose the bed and add a third row a la Rivian R1T/S. Seems almost foolish not to do so and attack the Escalade, Range Rover, Defender, Lexus GX, Sequoia, Wagoneer, etc.

I guess all things are possible, but I remember a time when the thought was that there would only be 20,000 Foundation series made, but I don't think there's ever been an official Tesla statement saying that. I suspect many who passed on their reservations early expected that they would get an option for a non-FS fairly soon. But if the term "Foundation series" is not meant to imply something like "Founder's series", then it could be a much longer wait than people expected and may change a least a few minds on how long they're willing to wait. It would be nice to hear a more official explanation from Tesla.

Someone on reddit claimed they spoke to customer service this morning, and:

No idea if it's true - but, if so, congrats to all the folks currently without the edit button!
They did not give me any answers as to why I did not have the option to edit my build on the website. But I asked for my order to be changed and they did it instantaneously. They did not give me an estimate on the delivery delay due to the changes.

Do we know if the new Core wheel is the same as the original wheel and they are just using A/S tire to get more range? I would Swap A/T for A/S when mine comes in

I think no one knows, no one has seen or received any of those options yet. But my guess is both are same rims just the tires are different.

I was looking at the Service Manual to see how hard swapping the trim panels is (doesn't look hard at all).

The pics used sure look like grey trim to me. I wonder if the TG is that light??

At no point did Tesla give a number for how many would be sold.

They're clearly still getting sales for the stupidly expensive version that will lose $20k off the top of its value when the next edition comes out. Why stop until those orders dry up?

Until then, they got the grey parts in. It means we're close to the non-Foundation Series model.

Happily just modified my order to jettison the white decor for the tactical grey. I didn't change the tires/wheels despite the range pick-up. I hope my delivery date isn't pushed back, but decided I could live with that repercussion easier than I could live with that white.
