I agree with you, three years under the production and most of the issues should be going through a midcycle refresh of sorts. The problem is I don’t have until then to make a decision on the replacement/buyback. I only have a few weeks.
If you're concerned about Quality control and updates for Cybertruck, and if you can get by without a truck bed, buy a 26 Model X, get the 6 seat, as that is by far the most popular option, for resale. Model X still comes with Luxe, so free supercharging, and included FSD. As long as you can get by without a truck, this will buy you time to wait for Cybertruck to get the new AI5 hardware. I think X will hold some value, because its discontinued after June, and its still a really popular car. Its too bad that none of the Luxe package is transferrable to the new owner, or it may hold most of its value in resale.

these are important things to note on the Luxe package

Transferability. The Package, including its individual features and services, cannot be transferred to another vehicle.
If you sell or otherwise transfer the ownership of your Model S, or Model X, the remainder of the Recommended
Maintenance, Wheel and Tire Protection Plan, and Windshield Protection Plan will transfer automatically to the buyer.
The Full Self-Driving (Supervised), Free Supercharging and Premium Connectivity will not transfer with the vehicle and
will terminate once the ownership of the Model S, or Model X is transferred.
Full Self-Driving (Supervised) (not transferable). Under your active supervision, Full Self-Driving (Supervised), or
“FSD (Supervised)”, can drive your vehicle almost anywhere. It will make lane changes, select forks to follow your
navigation route, navigate around other vehicles and objects and make left and right turns. None of these advanced
driver assistance features make your Tesla vehicle fully autonomous or replace you as the driver. You are always
responsible for the safe handling of the vehicle. Specific features available to you may vary depending on your vehicle
configuration, hardware, software version, region, model, vehicle trim, and model year. See the support page and
your vehicle’s owner’s manual for details.
Free Supercharging (not transferable). You are still responsible for Supercharger fees, like idle and congestion
fees, when applicable. May only be redeemed at Tesla-owned Superchargers. Cannot be used for commercial
purposes (e.g. taxi, rideshare, or delivery services). If Tesla determines in good faith and its sole discretion that the
vehicle is being used for commercial purposes, Tesla may remove the Free Supercharging from the vehicle. The
vehicle will then default to Pay Per Use Supercharging.

A deep dent from the factory driver side quarter panel.

Numerous rattles and squeaks with the center console and rear screen, assess the whole thing to be swapped out after three or four times to replace apart here there.

The pillar rattles and squeaks

Front hood latch not closing properly and not opening sometimes.

Glass on one of the windows came scratch from the factory. Replacement the same thing.

Driver seat has been replaced three times due to motor issues, squeaks and rattles

Total days out of service exceeded 35 days. And I have camera issues showing Assistance degraded to this day.
I'm having the same long-term issue (6 service visits now) with the creaking center console on my 2024. What did service say the cause was? To me, it seems structural, as it only happens when turning left or right.

For me, it was the rear plastic panel underneath the rear screen near the floor. The perimeter of that panel is rubbing against the plastic around it. First, they put felt tape around it, which worked for a few weeks, but then the creaking started again. It’s a quality control issue at manufacturing. They’re supposed to be a slight 1 mm approximate gap Around the perimeter of that panel when the gap is not there the plastic touch and Creek during turns. The entire center console and screen assembly was replaced for me after three attempts.

Thank you for that. I actually got a model X plaid loaner during one of my service visits. And I loved that car. But there’s just something special about the cyber truck that I can’t give up.

I've owned...now 6...Teslas and for all the things Tesla does well, squeaks and rattles are not at the top. Right up there with panel gaps.

Even tight newer cars loosen up and begin to rattle. Many are fixable, but it's the nature of the company and surveys of owners show that a majority have them.

I'm not saying this to discourage you moving forward and I'm sure someone will say "I've never had a rattle", but as someone who came from Mercedes and even top trim F150s....Tesla is not great in that department.

The S/X are the worst offenders and the most expensive vehicles.

For tech, self-driving, and acceleration package, no one can beat Tesla.

I hear you. Same for me I’ve driven brands across the spectrum. From Ford’s to Audi and BMWs, etc..

The problem with Tesla in my opinion is that they use really cheap plastics and materials on the interiors. Additionally, with the cyber truck being a first generation product, I anticipated some issues around rattles and squeaks, and so forth. For me, it was more the issue of having to go back three times or so to get things resolved, which burned the out of service clock so to speak.

Thanks for the response. Did replacing the entire center console solve the issue?

I think a part of the problem is service center.
There's only 1 service center in McAllen/Brownsville area. Everytime I bring the truck in to fix 1 issue, they create another.

I had a 24 foundation AWD, drove to 20k miles with rattle here n there, vibrating mirrors, not a huge problem for me personally. Then traded it in for a 25 AWD, same vibrating mirror and door panel. The last time it was in service to replace windshield, they damaged another door panel and broke windshield wiper, creating more problems -_-

After a week sitting in service center now everything is kinda fixed. I'm scared everytime the car has to be in service lol

My dad has a 24 AWD in Houston, and the service center seems to be better. He has the option to go between 3 different service centers to make sure the work is done correctly. He's also retired and has more time than me :)

We've been diring Tesla for a while, 23 MYP and 2 MXP 24, 26 in the family. Suprisingly the Model X never had any issue. All the issues have been the CT.

Good luck with your next Tesla man.

I’m thankful that my service center people and staff have been super helpful. As my pictures above show, they went out of their way to let me even keep the old center console as a gesture of Goodwill.

PS, I usually do a walk around and take interior photos and exterior photos of the car before I drop it off.
I would be frustrated if I was in your shoes. It’s nerve-racking having your car in the hands of people who aren’t taking care of it properly.

Yes. They even let me keep the old center console and screen in case my rear screen ever went bad. I now have a spare.

Glad to hear that fixed the issue for you. Fingers crossed that service will do the same for mine. Cool they let you keep the old one as a spare too.

I love the Cybertruck a lot, but being constantly reminded of these annoying issues greatly diminishes its value for me.

Don’t take no for an answer. Make them replace the console. It’s the vertical panel underneath the screen that sits on top of the floor. You can actually press the corners end with your hand and cause the squeak to happen.
