Of course you'd think that were you foolish enough to believe:
https://www.healthsystemtracker.org...lity-u-s-healthcare-system-compare-countries/

Canada spends 1/5th that the US does and has better outcomes. At least they don't put individual people permanently in crushing debt for suffering an illness.

That seems a weird thing to want to bring into a system.

PS, to put it in perspective, the private spending - you and your employer in the US - spend more per person cover just workers and their immediate dependents than everyone in Canada pays per capita to cover everyone including the poor, disabled, and retirees.

Buying a Tesla in Canada is generally only for the rich. If we compare USD vs CAD pricing, we see a multiplier of about 1.6. This is way beyond the currency exchange rate which is around 1.3. An entry level Model Y will set you back about $80,000 CAD with advanced autopilot.

Single Motor Cybertruck ~$64k + autopilot = $74k CAD
Dual Motor Cybertruck ~$80k + autopilot = $90k CAD
Tri-Motor Cybertruck ~$112k + autopilot = $122k !!!! CAD

And since Canada is both huge and very cold, anything less than the 500 mile range battery has very limited usefulness. These prices are out of control. I could buy a top of the line pickup truck for half this cost.

And for my American friends, no, Canadians do not have higher salaries. we have low salaries and high taxes, and a currency with terrible purchasing power. That's what socialism gets you.
I’m not saying ur wrong with the prices but Canada Tesla is reporting about 53000 for single motor So I was figuring 65000 for dual and 92000 for tri. I was figuring I’d be about 75000 with hst in in Ontario. At ur price point I’d be more like 100,000 taxes in

I'm not sure how you did the math, maybe mine is wrong but:

The Long Range Model Y is 49 900USD$, and in Canada they sell it for 69 000$. Dual Motor is priced at 49 000USD$ so it should be almost exactly 69 000$, no? So around 79k with Autopilot, not 90

your price in USD is wrong. It’s actually $43,690 foot long range model Y.

Move isn’t much better for Canadians.

If he buys his Cybrtruck, retires then moves his TCO increases. In Panama he will retire comfortably but his CT importation could easily approach +$20k USD. AND if he sells the CT to buy new he must pay a sales tax on the value of the CT at the time itvwas brought into the country.

Move is less an option than it seems, standing on the USA side of the border.

As the CDN$ gets stronger we can only hope for a much lower cost.

We may never hit the Euro or Pound conversion amounts BUT with all the "helicopter money" being unleashed in the USA, one never knows!

Is the price of gas still over a $1.00 Canadian per liter?
Yes...in Calgary, AB prices are $1.22/L (R), $1.41 (P), $1.20 (D). But check out Vancouver, BC as high as $1.51 (R), $1.70 (P), $1.37 (D)...according to the GasBuddy app. Ouch! Makes me smile when I drive by in my M3.

Where did you get these figures?
With the US/Can exchange the Dual Motor should be around $65k so I'm budgeting $70k in my head (plus tax). There's probably some extra shipping cost or duty, but I sure hope it's not in the $15,000 neighborhood. And I'm not sure, will the CT be eligible for some of the EV rebates or is it too expensive to be eligible?

I wanted to agree with this post.. as a Canadian (we DO often get screwed with currency exchanges)

However, I just checked a model x plaid - CAD vs USD on Tesla's site, I see 108,490 (US) vs 148,990 (CAD)

Google says 108,490 usd is equal to 146,521.98 right now. That's nothing to complain about
