Hello all,

Got this two water spots running down the side of the truck. Most of it I got rid of with a combo of Barkeeper's Friend soft cleanser and a DA polisher with orange pad with Windex to clean the Barkeeper's friend off. But I cannot get rid of the last 4 inches of it. It's blended better for sure, but if you look at it an angle, the water spot line is still there.

Any other help is appreciated?

Trying this next.

Have pictures? If barkeeper doesn’t fix the issue I would be hesitant to move to a stronger solution as you permanently alter the finish of the SS. The water spot stuff could work but most car cleaners are aimed at treating painted surfaces so not sure if it will do much.

I had the same issue and couldn’t remove it. That was one of the reasons I decision wrap my CT. I don’t do off roading nor tow. Travel, camping (nothing rough) , and driving the grandkids around.

Yep, water spot remover is what you need. It will dissolve the minerals that you are unable to clear away.

On another note, I can't believe some of you haven't started working on a solution to create an artistic patina so you don't have to keep worrying about water spots.

If there is a stain or discolorization that doesn't seem responsive to Barkeepers Friend or CitriSurf, don't keep trying stronger chemicals, simply polish it off with a Fine non-woven abrasive pad on a RO sander and finish it off with a very fine abrasive pad. Do all the panels with the same orientation to keep a smooth and consistent look between panels.

Then wash well with a free-rinsing soap and let it self passivate to reduce the chances of future stains.

Thank you all for the replies. I just looked at it with the garage doors opened. And honestly, I think I'm ok with it. It is so faint, I cant even get a picture of it.
