I thought that was kind of odd. I wonder if it has to do with how close the front suspension is.

Could be, I never read the reasoning... just the disclaimer. But that would make sense to me.

If the answer is to only comply with the letter of the request and not the spirit of it; that's why I carry socks with me in my car. Merely having them assures those checking that I at least have a back up plan in the case of ice or snow that exceeds my vehicle's winter tires.

They aren't really a replacement for chains, and I've used chains many times before (but they don't really fit on this car).

It really depends on your comfort level for risk. Socks are for when your comfort for protecting your vehicle exceeds your worry of getting somewhere; and only to be used in actual snow cover in emergencies.

Either socks or chains, the risk of such a road is that you might not put the devices on before you need them. Make sure you're comfortable with that before going up it.

Yeah, I think there is less than an inch of clearance.

It's unfortunate. Traction from two extra wheels could be useful especially when trying to pull somebody out of a ditch while on ice yourself.

There is a ski resort in Canada that says all vehicles including 4x4s need snow chains as it is on a logging road.
Do you think I should get them for my foundation CT? If so, how many and where from? My wife found some but they're $600!

Tesla recommends taking off the covers on Cyber wheels to avoid scratching them.

It was just a mounting test, I didn't drive far.
