Going from a cool garage to the blasting sun. Thermal expansion is real!!!
This. CTE differential placed the glass under compression or expansion. Not at all surprising to see this pattern given previous incidents from this effect.

Now that's unique! Like a pressure wave hit it in the middle of the circle. On the other hand, it looks like there's an impact spot. Typically, it seems like if there's an impact, then your car insurance pays, and if there's no impact, then it could be warranty. I put an arrow, where I think an impact is.
On the other hand, remind them it's unique, maybe Tesla or the

glass maker, St.Gobain?, would like to have it to study?
Has anyone run into this issue and did Tesla cover it or is it at my expense.

I thought this was super glass? :)
Big bummer.

If it's like my similar incident, there was no pitting or other indication of outside impact and the radial cracks could be felt on the inside but not on the outside. Tesla diagnosed it as a failure of the glass, and replaced it under warranty.
Yikes. Some people would pay for that design aftermarket. I’ve got my wiper blade etching my windshield. Tough glass is easily scratched, I hear. They replaced entire arm and motor. Now scatches slightly different location now. They mentioned they’d need to get authorization to replace the windshield.

I had the same exact pattern and issue with my roof glass. Specifically it occurred during "launch mode", LOL. I hear a rather load tick sound above my head the instant I let off of the brake pedal. Zero loose objects inside the vehicle to cause any damage and I was on an empty country road where no debris would have hit me from other vehicles. After more research than I care to admit, it seems to be due to an inclusion in the glass during manufacturing. Apparently, hardened glass such as Tesla uses has a higher rate of this type of inclusion issue. The stress of the hard launch was enough for the weak point to let loose and create the circular break pattern others have mentioned. FWIW: Tesla covered this under warranty for me without any arguments. I was prepared at the time to expect every excuse why it was my fault and not a warranty claim, however, they took care of it at zero cost.

Find one other remotely similar incident. I’ll wait here.

I do support other owners, and I apologized after seeing further evidence, but we always have to keep a watchful eye out for FUD in this day and age.
Glass is weird and is under a lot of tension. There have DEFINITELY been other CTs (including on this forum) to suffer spontaneous cracks like these. Oftentimes there’s an imperfection introduced during manufacturing that results in these failures.

We’ve got a bunch of smart materials guys around here including, who I’m sure could take us a lot deeper into this topic if they wanted to.

Yes, this happened to me! Broken on the inside only!! Could feel it when I ran my finger across it. But smooth on the outside! Tesla replaced it and had tinted again. Thank goodness. There was no rhyme or reason. My circles were smaller but had large half circle around the top like yours. I heard they had some windshields that were this way straight from factory. Lucky us. No problems as of yet. Been about 6 months.
