CT Payload - Warning Rear Wheel Overloaded!

All, I went to Lowe's today and picked up 2 pallets of 12x12 pavers. The first pallet has 168 pavers on it @ about 17 lbs ea for a total weight of 2,856 lbs. I took 3 layers of Pavers off the top leaving a pallet weight of 2,244. I thought that would be light enough.

I moved the 3 layers of pavers onto another pallet with only 48 Pavers in on it. That pallet now had 84 pavers on it for a total weight of (84x17 lbs ea) = 1,428 lbs.

I took the lighter pallet home first and unloaded it. No problem with this pallet. I then went back for the heavier pallet.

It was loaded in the back and when I started to drive off I got a red warning on the dash that the rear axle was overweight and to modify the load. I thought about having the pallet moved closer to the front of the bed but decided to continue on and just take it slow. Got home and unloaded the 2nd pallet.

Just passing this on for consideration. Be aware of your cargo weight and don't overload your CT. If you do carry heavy, carry as far forward in the bed. I should have had the heavier pallet moved more forward when it was loaded.

Payload on CT is around 2,500 lbs which includes ALL cargo (front, rear, & inside) and passenger weight so when your loading heavy you really don't have a lot of wiggle room with only 2,500 lbs to work with.

Total available rear axle capacity of an AWD with AT tires (ideally at 65 psi) is 1,883 pounds.

The tires are often the weak link, make sure you air them up before hauling heavy loads.

Right. Just be glad you don't have the Hummer EV or the Silverado with max battery. The cargo capacity is A LOT less than the Cybertruck (and the Cybertruck actually drives pretty nicely when moderately over-loaded). In my old F-150 I could feel the frame bending and twisting and changing the wheel alignment as I hit bumps and dips in the pavement. The Cybertruck has the frame rigidity to deal with it, it's more of an issue with the tires and air suspension not being rated for more.
