Anyway to make that not happen? I walk by my truck often just around the house and garage. Every time the CT wakes up when my phone is in my pocket.

That doesn’t happen with the Y.

Turn off bluetooth is really the only option.

This happens to me on all of my Teslas MS, MY, and CT...The MS, for whatever reason, is the most sensitive. Using UWB seems to extend the range. I've tested it a few times.

In your Tesla app, under Security and Drivers, there's a slide bar toggle next to the "Phone Key" that will turn on or off the function of: "Automatically unlock and start when mobile device is near".

If you slide that to off, it should stop it, but then you also lose that awesomeness everywhere else you go. I just let it be. I leave it toggled on and not worry about it "waking up" when I'm nearby.

Not fumbling for my phone and having to open the app to unlock for entry every time, for me, overrules the "wake ups" when I'm in the garage.

IMO that disables the biggest benefit of a Tesla.

It has never happened to my 3 or Y. Even when I walk besides it but don’t open the door, it remains ‘sleeping’ where-as the CT wakes up and sometimes flashes the light and screen comes on for a second.

To the other replies, agree I don’t want to disable the phone key feature.

Then you have to live with it. It's not a big deal.

Yea the functionality of the CT is such that getting "near it" wakes it up; while with the 3/Y it waits for you to pull a handle before checking if you're near it. Hopefully tesla will correct this with a update. I too find mine waking up if my wife takes her phone to the bathroom that's right above the garage at night. LOL.

Exactly. I walk around my house and wakes it up often.

It's been bothering me too since there must be a service life of the components used when waking up, plus the inefficiency of it all. I may be mistaken but it seemed to happen after I selected the option in the app main screen to "improve the phone key". I don't know what setting that changed or if I can change it back. I haven't been able to locate it during troubleshooting so far. It's a different setting than turning the phone key off since the phone key worked prior to selecting that option to improve the phone key.
For the record, I have a Samsung phone in case it's related to Android versus iOS.

The improve phone key is UWB, which you can turn off.

I've noticed this too and it has to be from one of the recent updates. I used to be able to turn off my bluetooth when I was home and it wouldn't wake up. Now it wakes up every time I pass by, bluetooth or not.

I walked up to my ICE car yesterday and pulled the handle several times before I realized "you gotta unlock it, duh" ?
