The bottom will be covered with whatever that protective layer is (composite material??) which will probably replace the need for whatever the bungie did.

Agreed! Was just taking a close look and saw it and had a chuckle it could even just be holding on some sort of sensor for the crash test.

Assuming it's a real test, it seams unlikely to be temporary unless it's holding some kind of test equipment.
