Mine was scheduled to deliver tomorrow but got a message in the App that delivery is postponed to next week. Didn’t say any reason.
While they’re dealing with the motor perhaps they could reprogram the spray to start a second before the wiper moves so it doesn’t sound as if you’re sandpapering the windshield whenever you hit “clean”

the thing people need to understand with Tesla is this is his (Elons) business model.. it is the same with spacex. But, it has always been with Tesla. Get the product out, Fail fast, reengineer or replace and move on. My model S is a P85+ purchased 10.2 years ago, I had my share of service appointments but nothing in the last 4 years.. This is what warranty and extended warranty is for. If you aren’t prepared for this then a Tesla isn’t for you. I’m not defending them I’m saying it is what it is and you can either accept it or move to another brand.

just to note I also have the cybertruck.. different delivery experience. Better made vehicle than my 2013 by a long shot.. I love both.
I was a long time purchaser of the F150; purchase new and hold on to them for nearly a decade and pass them down to family for a vary reasonable price. Fords’ business model was to deny all warranty service unless customer was able to find some sort of recall, service bulletin or were tenacious enough to keep at them till they succumbed to pressure usually related to more bad press of some sort. Personally i did not like the purchasing process as it was always a back and forth game with the dealership and then the warranty war even over some of the most obvious things. Then there was the issues of the transmissions that were hit or miss, the engine block leaks for poor gaskets, drive train misalignments due to the factory being off kilter…and any number of other bad luck problems that the manufacturer of most American assembled and lowest bid sub contractors of parts that went awry due to one issue or another. Don’t get me wrong Tesla does not always step up immediately to the same/similar type of issues but they do eventually in my experience. The purchase process is much less time consuming as well, although they seem to have some processing issues that have some growing pains from time to time.

Stopped by the SC earlier to ask about my delivery. Easier than calling or texting. Advisor stated an inspection needed to be done still but if there was an issue it is a 15-20 minute fix once they locate the issue and repair. I asked if it was the windshield motor and he stated it was the blade. ?‍♂
Arrived home, knocked out my trade in packet, then received a text stating delivery would be pushed to the end of the week. 6/21 now. Asked via text if they could tell me the issue, said it was being inspected still and couldn’t provide at this time.
I’ll take it all with a grain of salt, I’ve had plenty of Ford vehicles that had way worse issues from the factory. Not once in 25 years of owning a Ford did I do a vehicle exterior or interior inspection. Just got in and drove off lot. I’m with Tesla now based mainly on their mission, Elon’s outlook on life and the difference of dealing with a racket versus straight up vehicle purchase. Just my 2¢. Just as excited even with the delay.
Yeah that’s the right attitude. I was set to take my delivery this morning and just got a text at 7pm last night that only said they delayed my delivery to 6/20. It was devastating and really pissed me off because I had Father’s Day plans involving the truck and that. After letting it sink I I was able to let it go. Their real sin is the lack of transparency and seemingly not caring enough about their loyal customers to provide detail. Had they explained the why with a phone call it would have been much more appropriate and it was a cop out to just send a text. That said it is what it is. After five long years I guess another week won’t kill me. Long term shareholder, just got home from the meeting, own three teslas. Just feels like a bit of a slap in the face with such a lack of customer care.

I picked up my CT (vin 028xx) in March and now have more than 9000 miles without any wiper issues. Of course I live in Washington State where we don't get much rain, unlike Florida.

What is the source of this rumor?

I've used my wipers a lot over the last 1855 miles without noticing any problem. You say it's a safety issue? I will pray that no harm comes to me! :ROFLMAO:
Over 3000 miles and countless rainstorms between LA and Vegas. Zero issues. ??

Well that explains why I haven't had any text for delivery. VIN on 9th and was expecting a delivery text this morning. Lol and behold my daily email recap of the forum was first message I read today. Well nuts. Hoping they still ship it to the delivery center so I can at least eyeball it to make sure all lines up. It was still in Texas on the 14th.
Stuff fails and I'd rather have the wiper right than it arrive a week quicker.

So.. I'm seeing people listing part of their VIN#s. Does the 17516 indicate yours is the 17,516 of CTs produced so far?
Yes, I believe that is correct,

I feel your pain, EXACT same thing happened to me Friday evening with delivery scheduled Saturday morning. I’m mostly over it now, but wtf, no call, no details, just a vague message in the Tesla app, that I was lucky to see, before driving 2 hrs for expected delivery in the morning. Now just hoping the wiper motor replacement gets done before my now scheduled 6/22 delivery.

I've had my Beast (94XX) for a few weeks now and have used my wiper in a few rain showers with no issue. I'm not seeing any movement when not using it at high way speeds and over all, no issues with anything anywhere on the vehicle.

My wiper gave up about 3 weeks ago VIN in the mid 4xxx range. Was working fine the first 3 months, but I noticed it began to move a little bit while driving and not activated. Then suddenly stopped working. I have an appointment Tuesday to fix it, hopefully they ordered the new part number to replace. My wiper is currently sitting further to towards the A-pillar than normal resting position.

Showing a delivery date of 6/21 for me. I wonder if it will get pushed back.

I wonder if a gear stripped or if the motor burnt out. That big wiper puts a lot of force on the motor when wiping, especially at highway speeds. Has anyone tried turning on the wiper while standing near the wiper and listening for sounds? Just curious.

No I don’t think so, was working fine a day before, and given the random ticking the wiper was doing I am speculating that it is motor related or wiring related.
