Until you get in a wreck, and the load is exceeded the vehicle rating and you’re at fault.
No, you're at fault if you're at fault. The weight of the vehicle is irrelevant, aside commercial ratings.

You're supposed to intuit the stopping distance you need, and one way to reduce stopping distance is to reduce load - the other is to reduce speed.

They're not going to check (or care) if you were overweight if you're t-boned or rear-ended... But you might not be able to get a tow in those cases.

My direct professional experience says otherwise. If overloading is a factor, you’ll get nailed.

I see a few good men wearing proper protective gear who likely did a pretty good job managing the risk on the way home to their buddies house to lay brick. Others see mutilation, death, dismemberment and jail time. It is amazing how differently we are all wired. God bless you guys. I’m glad you lived to tell about it ???

650 bricks 6lbs each about 4000lbs and the Cybertruck handled it like a Beast. Just a guy and his friends doing truck things (fully fitted for truck work as suggested by the Internet) 2500lbs is only manufactures suggested weight limit ?

We didn’t take ? but yes it self leveled and brought drive height to about 10” clearance insane cruises at 65 np ?

Honestly anyone using a truck as a truck is going to put more weight than its rated for. When you're in that line of work sometimes you just do what you gotta do to move things along. Not saying its the safest or smartest thing. My father used to haul 22k lb 60' aerials plus a gooseneck so basically 30k lbs with a 90s ram diesel with 200hp because his semi was broke down. Once again not saying its smart but he needed to get to the next job.

I work at a equipment rental company and we don't allow people to overload our trailers or use our equipment to overload theirs because of liability, but I see people overloading trailers weekly. Its good to see that it can handle this at least temporarily. Weight ratings are usually de-rated for safety. It would be interesting to see how much weight can be put into the bed until the air system reaches its limit.

Which limit, the max PSI the compressor can output? Or the burst pressure of the system if you start by maxing it in extract and then load it more?

looks like cosplay with brand new vests. Does Ca. require DIYers to wear theses vests and go weigh their loads on scales?
Don't know how people deal living in these nanny states

I’m saying keep it in normal ride height and load it until something breaks. A line or the suspension. Whatever is the weakest link. Needs to be a YouTuber with plenty of disposable income lol.

Whichever is weakest. That’s the limiting factor.

And I'm gonna say that's bullshit. Being overweight is its own penalty, not liability.

Also, commercial is different than private.

Yeah… I don’t argue on something I’ve lived. You’re entitled to your opinion.

Noted, you don't read posts you reply to.

They never said their profession was being the truck driver...
Until you get in a wreck, and the load is exceeded the vehicle rating and you’re at fault.

I’ve seen many cases, dozens, through the years where a person was injured, mutilated or killed, due to overloaded vehicles and/or trailers, or trailers being too heavy for the vehicle’s rating.
Every time, that vehicle operator was at fault. Some, went to prison.
And not one was a semi. All passenger vehicles.
