because they are good or bad ? these prices are already like 50% more then what i pay
PG&E rates are between 34 to 72 cents per kWh depending on the rate schedule, season, and time of day. Natural gas rates are equally ridiculous. Solar is basically essential, but even then they are screwing us over by essentially eliminating net equivalent metering. They now buy it at a few cents a kwh but sell it back to us a few hours later at 10x-15x the price.

The average customer pays over $300/mo. An ev owner pays much much more...

Socialize the utilities!

agree, electric will be as basic as other elements, water, food, etc
we need tighter controls on the utilities, they are make more money now than ever

I pay as little as 4¢/kWh from Austin Energy for power, with TT&L etc. I average about 14¢/kWh.
That's a lot! I never pay more than about $0.11/kWh. I would have thought the abundance of natural gas in oil rich Texas would bring super cheap rates but perhaps the utilities are ripping off consumers with the blessings of the utility regulators.

Yeah, PG&E just raised off-peak prices to what I was paying for all-day electricity just two years ago.

But the price difference is so low - $54 over a year per kWh shifted a day - it's hardly worth doing anything about it. Some timers, maybe, but not a battery system.

So annoying.

I agree it would have been nice if 80 amp charging was brought back for CT, but it wasn't. So I'm not sure what feedback you want. There isn't a way to make 0-90% charging possible on AC in 8 hours. You can install a DC fast charger for ~50k if it's that important to you, but I suspect it would be far cheaper to just pay higher rates once in a while.
Or a Powerwall.

Northern Colorado - flat rate is 11c, didn't bother with the off peak plan. From CA so familiar with PG&E (hated), local power company Poudre Valley REA is awesome!

1 Million Miles on ICE Toyotas, Waiting for CT
With the range of the CT being around 260 mixed driving or 200 highway the need to go from low teens to close to 100% is a reality for a lot of drivers.

I think that the onboard charger may be capable of more than 48amps but is software limited and will be opened up when the new larger battery pack gets put into the CT. I am holding off from some wiring waiting on this potential change.

I selected the "renewables only" rate plan, based on actual cost of wind/solar, so my rates do not fluctuate with fossil-fuel prices. Sometimes it's higher but I'm OK with that.
