Hey man. Actually I think you just answers your own question. Just seems like a weird flex is all.

That being said, you do you, buddy.
What? A weird flex? What?

Do you know what a "flex" is?

Do tell why being "the most disappointing thing thats ever happened to me" is off limits?

4 years. 4 years of excitement and anticipation. CT is what made me a Tesla fan. I have bought 2 cars since then. I have been an avid fan of Tesla because of the CT.

I waited, excited, patiently, to just be blown off and skipped. 4 years is more than 10% of my life so far. Let that sink in.

You might be confusing disappointment, and tragedy. If you want to talk tragedy, I lost both of my parents when I was 14. So take your gatekeeping nonesense and walk. I have been through more shit than you can imagine. Tesla screwing me over and blowing me off is right up there with the most disappointing things that has happened to me. If you don't know the difference between disappointment and tragedy, thats on you.
You got this man...been waiting patiently since day 1 as well! We all in this together!

Good points being made on the delivery timeline. One of these three things is true, based on what we know:

1) Delivery timeline is wrong.

2) Elon lied about being nearly sold out. Nothing incriminating here, nothing measurable was said. FOMO to sell more FS is possible.

3) There will be more Beasts made, than AWD. The Beast timeline is mid-late 2024. Maybe they turn off the FS AWD option and switch strictly to FS Beasts from May through year-end. Margins should be better and perhaps they've calculated Beast demand will meet limited 2024 manufacturing capacity.

Wow, this is an incredible statement by Elon on many levels. My primary takeaway is that Foundation Series will not be nearly as exclusive as previously expected (nothing new to many on this site).

A full year's production in 2024 will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 100k CTs (yes nobody knows but it is in the ballpark and a nice round number). As far as we know Tesla is only offering Foundation series so it is likely that all of 2024 will be Foundation Series. A full year's worth of "limited edition" seems a bit excessive.

If reservation conversion remains high, I see no reason for Tesla to offer the standard versions of the CT. We could see Foundation Series as the only version offered into 2025 as well. Tesla is going to milk as much as possible out of early reservation holders.

If Tesla believes they can make 125k CTs per year at full production per today's lender presentation, making 100k CTs in 2024 would mean they are at full peak production by the end of March. I think your number is very optimistic, I'd bet the under on them hitting half of your guess in 2024.

I missed that part. I revise my estimate down to 50k. ?

Mainly I'm surprised that Elon would say all of 2024 orders will soon be filled which implies it will be all Foundation trucks. That amounts to a lot of people paying an extra $20k beyond standard pricing. Not saying it is good or bad, just a lot.

I got my invite to order today...can't decide if I'll pull the trigger or not.

Earnings call topic that needed it's own thread.

Foundation Series will own 2024 it seems.

Per Elon Musk: Cybertruck reservation conversion rate has been "very encouraging". If the trend continues, and it likely will, all 2024 orders will soon be fulfilled. "Demand is off the hook"

Anything about Metal Access Key Cards?

Tesla Cybertruck Cybertruck is almost sold out for 2024. Reservation conversion rate very encouraging (per Q4 2023 earnings call) Metal acces cards

I truly understand the disappointment and indignation being expressed by many long term forum members. If you are like me it takes something special to get you emotionally invested.

The CT has the potential to be special for many. A new vehicle that one day may have the name recognition of a mustang or Camaro But not if the price point is beyond most peoples means. Not if the capabilities limit its utility. Not if customers feel #$&@ed with. The $100 and time waiting are not a big deal. The bad taste left in customers mouths may be.

I think they are going to go through the existing 1+ million reservation list as foundation orders. I think the sold out conversion rate mentioned will be all foundation for 2024. ~90k for year total. People that pass will be 2025.

Losing both parents is horrible. Happened to my mom as well. I think his comment of being most “disappointing thing in my life” over a car is .. interesting.. I have lots of things that have disappointed me in life (sports, relationships, work). Not getting a car in a timely manner seems a little hyperbole.. but I am obviously not as hardcore into cars as him so ??

IF this truly the most disappointing thing that has ever happened to you, then;
1.) You can't be all that old. Life sucks. Get used to it.
2.) You've never been married.
3.) You've never had kids.
4.) Your work life has been very sheltered.
5.) Your knowledge of politics is limited.
6.) You are putting WAY too much emphasis on a vehicle.
7.) You must have no life.

I can name a few thousand events far more disappointing than this, and they all cost me more than $100. Your belief that Tesla has been "screwing you over and blowing you off" sounds a lot like you are taking this all too personal. Tesla ain't done a thing to YOU personally. They are doing business, making business decisions, and conducting a business. If they could execute everything faster and cheaper and make more while doing it, I have NO doubt they would have. But, like most of us, they are peddling as fast as they can. Unlike the legacy OEMs, my perception of the Tesla employees is one of a group that is mostly united behind a company and its mission. And I haven't seen a single event in any of their history that I would even suspect is directed on a single customer. There was a decision at a very high level as to the roll out of the FS CT. For some unknown reason, you and a whole lot of other people haven't been selected yet. And while we are on the reservation topic, please re-read (or read for the first time) your pre-purchase agreement. Nowhere in there is there a commitment that they will go through the list in ANY particular order related to your reservation number. WE have built that narrative, not Tesla. You are claiming disappointment in a commitment they never made. You have a single sided agreement in mind that they aren't a party to. Sorry, but that is the truth.

This is suboptimal to say the least for those with early reservations that don’t want the FS. So is this an admission then that rather than limited to 1000 CT/CBs the FS will be limited to “as many people willing to pay $20k to jump the line” and they will run through an entire year’s orders or more before they get back to non-FS CTs and CB orders?

oh well. Guess i have a very long time to wait then despite my reservation being made during the original 2019 reveal event as soon as orders went online.

not exactly happy about that but nothing I can do about it… except wait.

cheers all—and happy waiting
