Being Canadian is suffering.
  • Our deliveries will lag behind US deliveries, potentially for a while if it's a lengthy production ramp start
  • If I want my truck sooner rather than never, I'll need to switch to the quad motor config
  • In addition to the exchange rate, we're also getting hit with the Luxury Goods tax for anything over $100k CAD.
hopefully the luxury tax threshold is reviewed as it hasn't kept up with cost of living.

Australia has a luxury car tax which is brutal, especially since if was introduced to protect Australian car manufacturers, which we don't have anymore.

I heard him say “volume production” mid 2023 at the meeting.
And he never misses his promises LOL.

I guess next June we will know....

FYI. People make up their own estimate of volume production. I recall at one time Elon saying it would be 150,000 a year. Other posters claim Tesla will make 350,000 Cybertrucks a year.
I think we don't know. But since this is a brand new vehicle, 150,000 would be a pretty solid number, IMO.

You are correct he said "Volume Production" Middle of next year. not 2023

We all heard what Elon said.

Now, can his team execute? There have been promises before about when the Cybertruck would be "locked down" engineering wise, and promises made about when production would start.

I will be a bit skeptical until I see Cybertrucks being delivered to real customers (not Tesla employees). I am worried the 4680 ramp will not come off as promised and the real production of Cybertrucks won't start until close to January 2024.

I mention volume production because people seem to only talk about starting production, and they are very different things. Deliveries have to start with someone sometime. Volume production in mid 2023 means that initial production and deliveries must start several months before mid year 2023.
“You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join me.
Let’s hope I am lucky enough to be correct. Optimism defeats pessimism.
