I hope this is just on the most expensive version.

Don’t particularly care one way or the other about Steam on my car.

But Tesla has so far limited themselves to putting these faster computers in their top end cars. Wouldn’t complain if the truck had Steam integration, but I also don’t really want to pay Model S prices for a truck either.

Screencast to your home TV or VR headset over wifi would be cool for less latency sensitive titles.

How? Do we pay for the Steam client on any other platform?

-Crissa
I don’t play video games but my guess would be that the client is free but that you pay to play.

Steam has hundreds of games. You pay for them individually.

Not sure if Tesla gets a cut of revenue or not. I would hope based on Musk’s past criticism of Apple’s iPhone App Store cut that they would not get a large cut.

presumably there are at least some tangible cost reasons for the delta in price between the model S and 3. It shouldn’t have rear steer or include the tonneau tbh. Base pricing is important

Hardware costs, AAA gaming is only for S/X as 3/Y lack the discrete GPU.

I'd rather get sail storage and/or Lightning style frunk than Steam gaming.

That's fine, but Steam gaming isn't all high end PC stuff.

In fact, the vast majority is not.

Sure, I don't need a Steam Deck;s capability in my car (tho the S/X exceed it), but I wouldn't mind the ability of say, an old iPad. Since it's similar in processing power.

My 9 year old's head nearly exploded when he saw Cuphead was available in my Y. $19 later for a wireless dongle for the controller and now he spends hours sitting in the car in the garage playing Sonic, Cuphead etc. I would be happy if Steam came to my car, would even pay for a GPU upgrade if it was available. I do wish more of the USB ports supported data... ugh.

So if it comes on the CT I'll be stoked. I see it as the ultimate camping vehicle for me and being able to fire up some games while camping with the kids would make me uber hero dad. Yeah, technically it barely qualifies as camping, but oh well.
