Nyctophobia? Vitamin D? Isn't a vampire?

More like blue eyes, live in Texas, and married to a dermatologist :ROFLMAO:

Also vanity:

the UV films manufacturers uses only block the spectrum of UV that cause burns/cancer

what they don’t block are the spectrum that causes skin degradation and aging

Good tint blocks most all relevant spectra of UV

the films used in manufacturers glass are clear, blocking sunburn and heat in “untinted” OEM glass

I understand many won’t care, or maybe think it’s a nominal issue - courses for horses

but here’s a favorite (of dermatologists, or at least my wife) case study published about 10 years ago in the New England Journal of Medicine - in fact I believe the photo made the cover of that issue

the central point of the article was that this guy’s case made for an interesting case study in what sun exposure does to skin aging generally

the ancillary point by background is that this two-face appearance was the result of this guy being a truck driver for 28 years - his left side of face on the driver’s side window (had he used daily sunblock on the right side of his face, the delta would’ve been far more dramatic)

relatedly, my wife does longer drives with special gloves on, because her hands on wheel are under the un-tinted windshield

I usually put a 6" band of limo tint at the top of my windshield and regulation tine on the rest of it .
Never had a problem with it from LEO's

i have sometimes gone way darker than legal in back, and cheated only slightly in front - same with a “brow”

but admit to often thinking that it’s an instance of it being good to be white, because the risk-benefit of getting LEO’d for tint is low risk for me

The first thing I do when I get a new personal vehicle is put 20% Llumar ceramic film on all the glass but the windshield and it gets 50%. I get plenty of sun at work and top off days. Plus it can freeze me out of the Jeep on a 100+ day in FL or the southwest.
in an ev it likely saves a bunch of energy. In ice it just cools down much faster and never gets as hot to begin with.

being a lot lighter than the sides helps mask it and zero nightime visibility issues. Never been stopped once, knock on wood.
