Cybertruck now available as INVENTORY on Tesla site!

In San Jose California (Santana Row) there is an early Cybertruck in the showroom that’s wrapped in a cool dark green. It’s got about 85 miles on the odo and its VIN is in the mid 700’s. Eventually they will likely sell that truck as an inventory vehicle, for example. They can’t sell it new! There must be a bunch of similar examples all across the country that will be sold and replaced w fresh or new models.

Not sure why it can't be sold as 'new' (in tax credit sense) as long as it was never registered. For example, I bought a 2017 TMX late 2017 that was a Tesla service loaner and it was sold with a discount but still qualified for the $7500 tax credit since it was never registered.

That is 100% correct. Demo/service cars and showroom are inventory. Or one shipped to a SC that didn't sell likely after a couple tries. Never titled, never owned by anyone other than the dealer/manufacturer. So not used.

My S was exactly the same. I think it had 1100 miles on it. Nice discount, and still going strong at 300k.

Tesla discounts these often at a dollar a mile plus some other amount. Low VIN's also present a slight issue as many view those as inferior as the quality of the line work has likely improved.

Well, I assume the showroom and demo Cybertrucks will be sold as new, as they are just demos and display models!

This tells me, as I've turned down 4 opportunities to own one...That many of us preorders are turning them down in droves. For me it's the lack federal tax credit, as well as it being available to me much sooner than I expected. I'm holding out for the new battery that makes it eligible for the credit along with expected increased range.

For anyone posting URLs (future use), people often do not want to put in their own zipcode.
The no limit for miles away means it doesn't matter if you use a generic (Austin CT builds) zipcode.

All I see is Foundations at Full Price, good luck with that.

Why is that? They come with 35" a/t tires, lifetime FSD, Lifetime premium connectivity. What do you think is fair? Maybe 5000 off?
