I love you guys and girls but damn….

y’all be real knit pickers about the information out there. I just thought it would be cool to share that they are doing some cool stuff with the truck.
Pics are great! I've had them in my background all day imagining going for a dirt road cruise. Ignore anyone trying to prove how distinguished they are by downplaying what's being shown.

Tested in mud being replaced by drives on dirt roads would be a better tagline
When dirt is wet enough to stick to vehicles in a cakey manner I would call that mud. Sounds like you let your imagination get the better of you lol

Tesla community is doing it to itself. Why post stuff like this, if not to set high expectations?

Time for Taco's and Jillybeans!

She needs to straighten out those aviator glasses.

So explain exactly why? Is it the low clearance? The uneven weight distribution? I know the lack of power?

Put the right tires on it for the conditions and it will go through that as easily as the FJ.

CT has poor departure angle, much worse breakover angle, weighs a literal ton+ more than an FJ, and can’t handle tires that big. Those appear to be at least 34s with huge sidewalls.

And all photos indicate the CT has a poor upper control arm that looks flimsy af.

The issue with the CT could be power delivery and control since it is not going to have the type of differential you can put in an FJ.

All I know is we've seen a lot of guerrilla marketing style posts about the CT being off-road tested and most of it consists of it tooling around places you could go with a Subaru wagon or a Honda Passport.

One of the key reasons I have a CT on order is to get more off-road capability than I have in my Y. I don't expect it to be nearly as good as something like a real rock crawler but the stuff I have seen to date is extremely underwhelming.

Seriously doubt it, their is less to go wrong with an electric motor that over-revs than an ICE engine. They claimed to have driven it on a level 4 trail. That is comparable to what we have done with our F-150 so entirely reasonable.

just a side note that is a brushed dc motor, the Cybertruck uses a 3phase brushless motor.

Rock crawling is a whole different beast. Look at @Zabhawkin avatar and that front axle. CT ain't going there but mud as long as it is not bottomless with the right tires should do well.

Most of my application is going to be driving in deep snow and I'm sure it will be good for that.

I have secondary applications that involve me going onto rutted camping and hunting trails where you need a "real" four wheel drive vehicle.

I am currently never able to go these places myself as I don't have an appropriate vehicle, I have to borrow a vehicle or go with others.

I was hoping the CT would be that vehicle but increasingly I'm thinking it won't be.

As much as I want another electric I might just be better off getting a Toyota pickup.
